Nimble Collective, developer of a creative platform for animators, has raised $8.5 million in a round of funding from New Enterprise Associates. The company will use the new round of funding for product development efforts.

Mobile connectivity solutions company Jana has raised $57 million in a round of funding led by Verizon Ventures with participation from Spark Capital and Publicis. The company will use the funding for building out its sales team.

Creative agency The Brooklyn Brothers will be acquired by Interpublic Group for $43 million. The acquisition will see The Brooklyn Brothers integrated with Interpublic’s public relations network Golin. The Brooklyn Brothers has reported revenues of $28.5 million.

UK-based voiceover agency The Voiceover Gallery will acquire competitor Articulate Voices. The acquisition is complimentary to The Voiceover Gallery’s client and voice talent portfolio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Canada-based festival and concert promoter Union Events will be acquired by Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE:LYV). The acquisition is complimentary to Live Nation Canada’s music festival segment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Apache computing software platform developer GridGain Systems has raised $15 million in Series B funding led by Sberbank and MoneyTime Ventures with participation from Almaz Capital and RTP Ventures. The company will use the funding for research and development.

Singapore-based team communications service provider Pie will be acquired by Google. The acquisition is complimentary to Google’s product development division in Southeast Asia. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

K-12 data management software developer Certica Solutions will be acquired by New Harbor Capital. The acquisition provides Certica with the resources for building out data and content distribution solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dashboard video telematics and driver risk management solutions provider Lytx will be acquired by GTCR in a cash transaction valued at more than $500 million from Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. The acquisition will provide Lytx with the resources for expanding operations.  Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GroundWork Open Source, a provider of monitoring solutions for IT operations, will be acquired by network security company Fox Technologies. The acquisition provides Fox with expanded infrastructure and security management offerings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

IBM Watson Health will acquire healthcare data integration and analytics solutions provider Truven Health Analytics for $2.6 billion. The acquisition provides IBM Watson Health with expanded portfolio of patient data and information as the company looks to commercialize its services. Truven has reported 2015 revenues of $600 million and EBITDA of $140 million.
