The company will use the funding for expanding geographically while investing in product development initiatives.

Call center software provider Talkdesk has raised $6 million in a round of funding led by Salesforce Ventures with participation from DFJ and Storm Ventures. The company will use the funding for expanding headcount.

Data monetization platform Aquto has raised $8 million in Series B funding led by Iris Capital with participation from STC Ventures, Matrix Partners, and Northbridge Venture Partners. The company has raised $16 million to date and will use the funding for expanding its international presence.

Mobile point-of-sale system developer CardFlight has raised $4.2 million in Series A funding from MATH Venture Partners with participation from ff Venture Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and Plug & Play Ventures. The company will use the funding for expanding its engineering team.

TV entertainment and listing magazines publisher NTVB Media has acquired TV Guide Magazine from private equity firm OpenGate Capital. The acquisition provides TV Guide with the resources for expanding its weekly newsstand offerings and event interaction capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gannett (NYSE:GCI) will acquire Journal Media Group (NYSE:JMG) for $280 million. The acquisition price of $12 a share represents a 45 percent premium over Journal Media’s October 6th closing share price of $8.29. Journal Media has reported revenues of more than $385 million.

Data processing company YaData Solutions will be acquired by big data analytics platform Atigeo. The acquisition provides Atigeo with an expanded engineering division and an enhanced user insight solutions portfolio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Data systems design software company Embarcadero Technologies has been acquired by database management company Idera from Thoma Bravo. The acquisition provides Idera with an expanded customer base. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Employee engagement and analytics company Reflektive has raised $3.6 million in a round of funding from Andreessen Horowitz. The company will use the funding for expanding its platform and developing its technology.

Legal software solutions developer Aderant Holdings has been acquired by Roper Technologies (NYSE:ROP) for $675 million. Aderant has reported revenues of $125 million and will continue to operate under its own brand. The acquisition provides Roper with an expanded client base and service offering.

Cybersecurity solutions provider Foreground Security has been acquired by Raytheon. The acquisition will see Foreground rebrand as Raytheon Foreground Security as the company expands into the federal managed security market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Threat analysis solutions provider PassiveTotal has been acquired by digital security company RiskIQ. The acquisition provides RiskIQ with an expanded threat analysis portfolio as the company branches into new verticals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Israel-based container security platform Scalock has raised $4 million in a round of funding led by TLV Partners with participation from private investors. The company will use the funding for developing its platform while expanding into the US.

Application development and deployment company Zend Technologies has been acquired by software development tools developer Rogue Wave Software. The acquisition provides Rogue Wave with an expanded PHP development offering. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
