Axel Springer will acquire a majority stake in Business Insider for $343 million. The acquisition values Business Insider at $442 million as Axel Springer ups its ownership to 97 percent. Earlier this year, Axel Springer’s nine percent investment valued the company at a reported $200 million. The deal values Business Insider at 9x projected 2015 revenues and 6x projected 2016 revenues.

Local service review site Thumbtack has raised $125 million a reported valuation of $1.3 billion in a round of funding led by Baillie Gifford with participation from Tiger Global Management, Google Capital, and Sequoia Capital. The company has raised $273 million to date and will use the funding for developing new tools for professionals.

Outsourced coding and health information management company Trust Healthcare Consulting Services has received an undisclosed equity investment from MTS Health Investors. The investment provides Trust Healthcare with the resources for expanding operations.

The Carlyle Group will acquire a 51 percent majority stake in management systems and technology consulting firm PA Consulting. The acquisition will value PA Consulting at $1 billion, and will provide the company with the resources for supporting acquisitions.
