Over-the-top video stream solutions developer Octoshape has been acquired by content delivery services provider Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq:AKAM). The acquisition will bolster Akamai’s strategy for deployment of its software into devices, enterprises, and carrier networks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OpBandit, developer of content optimization software for online publishers, has been acquired by Vox Media. The acquisition will see Vox Media integrate OpBandit into its storytelling and audience platform. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Content publishing platform RebelMouse has raised $6 million in Series A funding from SoftBank and Oak Investment Partners. The company has raised $19 million to date and will use the new round of funding for growing its product and technology teams.

National conferences and professional research services provider LRP Conferences, an affiliate of LRP Publications, has acquired the Future of Education Technology Conference from b-to-b media company 1105 Media. The acquisition provides LRP with a widened education audience. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Roomlinix, a developer of media networks and interactive TV applications for the hospitality industry, has been acquired by Signal Point Holdings. The combined entity will rebrand as SignalShare Media Group and will focus on operating and designing intelligent internet networks for a broad range of industries. Personal cloud company TriPlay has raised $11 million in a round of funding from Fortress Investment Group (NYSE:FIG) and private investors. The company will use the new round of funding for expanding marketing efforts, accelerating research and development, and growing its existing user base.

Enterprise data integration software developer Informatica has will be taken private by Permira Advisors and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for $5.3 billion.  Informatica reported revenues of over $1 billion in 2014. Further terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
