Game publisher Firefly Games has raised $8 million in Series A funding led by Skyocean International Holdings with participation from Ceyuan Ventures. The company will use the new funding for acquiring new titles, financing internal game development, and making strategic investments internationally.

Cross-screen TV app developer Applicaster has raised $10.5 million in Series B funding led by Pitango Venture Capital with participation from 83North. The company has raised $18.5 million to date and will use the new round of funding for international expansion while further establishing a presence in Europe and North America.

Thailand-based online real estate portal ThinkingOfLiving.com has been acquired by iProperty Group for $10.2 million in cash and stock. The acquisition marks iProperty’s geographic expansion to Thailand as it looks to branch into the real estate agent and secondary property segments.

The company will use the new funding for expanding operations both domestically and internationally while focusing on accelerating product development.

SPRL, operator of a job board for IT professionals, has been acquired by Axel Springer’s generalist job site StepStone. The acquisition will enable StepStone to enhance its positioning in the IT recruitment sector in Europe. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cloud-based SaaS mobile management platform developer Iris Mobile has raised $5.5 million in Series A funding led by Origin Ventures with participation from OCA Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and Hyde Park Angels.  The company will use the new round of funding for hiring talent while expanding product development, sales, and marketing initiatives.

UK-based print marketing communications firm Paperhat Group has acquired by Bulgaria-based app production and eCommerce support specialist Despark. The acquisition follows Paperhat’s $13.1 million acquisition of UK-based digital agency CTI Digital earlier this year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Press agency Relaxnews, which specializes in the consulting, production, and management of digital content, has been acquired by Publicis Groupe for an estimated $17 million. Relaxnews will align with Publicis’ ZenithOptimedia, and the acquisition coincides with the company’s strategy of bolstering its digital offerings.

Advertising services and direct and digital marketing solutions provider Story UK, an integrated agency of marketing communications and advertising group The Mission Marketing Group, has acquired UK-based digital agency The Weather Digital and Print Communications. Book and journal publisher United Book Press has been acquired by printing and communications services provider Ironmark. United Book Press has reported revenues of $13 million and will grow Ironmark’s annual revenue to $35 million. Cloud services and SAP solutions provider oXya has been acquired by Hitachi Data Systems, the information infrastructure solutions subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. oXya will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi data systems, and the acquisition will enhance the company’s HDS cloud and managed services portfolio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Netherlands-based cloud file transfer service WeTransfer has raised $25 million in a round of funding from Highland Capital Partners. The company will use the new round of funding for innovating and developing its product portfolio while building out the brands presence internationally.

Israel-based crowdsourced and cloud-based log analytics solutions provider Logz.io has raised $1.2 million in a round of funding from Giza Venture Capital. The company will use the new round of funding for hiring talent and raising brand awareness.

SaaS-based email solutions company Excel Micro, a subsidiary of j2 Global (Nasdaq:JCOM), has acquired SaaS-based email security firm Nuvotera. The acquisition will allow j2 to expand in the email security space. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

PE firm Clarion Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in translation, localization, and testing services provider Moravia IT. The company has posted revenues exceeding $100 million and the acquisition will allow Moravia to continue building out its management team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
