India-based eCommerce company FlipKart has raised $700 million at a valuation of $11 billion from T. Rowe Price, Baillie Giffords, Greenoaks Capital, Steadview Capital, DST Global, GIC, ICONIQ Capital, and Tiger Global Management. The company has raised $3.2 billion to date with $1.9 having been raised within the past year.


Dress rental service Rent the Runaway has raised $60 million in Series D funding led by Technology Crossover Ventures with participation from Bain Capital Partners, Highland Capital Partners, and Advance Publications. The company has raised $114 million to date and will use the new funding for opening retail outlets in 15 markets and developing a distribution center on the west coast.

Mobile crossword puzzle developer PuzzleSocial has raised $3 million in Series A funding led by KiwiTech with participation from angel investors. The company will use the new funding for bringing its daily celebrity crossword to mass market.

Video supply side platform provider AdKarma has been acquired by video search engine blinkx. The acquisition will bolster blinkx’s position within the programmatic segment of the digital advertising market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Demand analytics and orchestration software developer Orchestro has raised $9.8 million in a round of funding led by Novak Biddle Venture Partners with participation from CNF Investments and New Markets Venture Partners. The company will use the new capital for expanding its sales and marketing efforts while growing its presence within mid-tier and emerging markets CPG companies.

Elemental Technologies, a developer of software defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, has raised $14.5 million in Series D funding led by Telstra with participation from General Catalyst Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, and Voyager Capital. The company will use the new funding for accelerating worldwide growth and expanding its suite of software defined video solutions.

NoteVault, a developer of voice-to-text based mobile reporting solutions for the engineering and construction industry, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from West Partners. The new capital will be used for continued expansion of sales and marketing efforts as well as for making enhancements to its core platform while developing new features.

Mobile sales enablement platform developer Showpad has acquired interactive sales and marketing presentation app StoryDesk. Showpad has recently raised $8.5 million from Dawn Capital and Hummingbird Ventures, and the acquisition expands Showpad’s customer base.

Video software developer SeaChange has acquired Timeline Labs, a provider of real-time social media analytics and audience engagement measurement solutions, for $24.5 million in cash and stock. The acquisition will provide cross selling opportunities and will help SeaChange extend its platform to new customers.

Oracle has agreed to acquire data solutions company Datalogix. The company has reported revenues of $125 million with the estimated price of the acquisition falling between $500 million and $1 billion. The acquisition will allow Oracle to attribute in-store transactions to digital advertisements with Datalogix targeting and measurement solutions. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Collaborative commerce network operator Inmar has acquired Clarus Agency, a design agency specializing in developing apps with consumer-level design. The acquisition will enhance Inmar’s data and analytics technology for the healthcare, promotions, and supply chain industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WPP has acquired the assets of Mexico-based digital marketing agencies Maka Marketing Digital and Clarus Digital. Clarus has reported 2014 revenues of $73 million, and the acquisition continues along the lines of WPP’s strategy of investing in digital while developing networks throughout Latin America. The Carlyle Group and Warburg Pincus in partnership have acquired Canada-based credit rating Agency DBRS, a provider of risk analysis for financial institutions and corporate entities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but estimate reports place the transaction at over $500 million.

AMN Healthcare Services (NYSE:AHS), a provider of healthcare workforce solutions and staffing services, has acquired clinical labor management services provider Avantas, a provider of workforce consulting, data analytics, predicative modeling, and SaaS-based scheduling technology for $25 million, representing a 3.1x revenue multiple.

Predilytics, a healthcare information technology company, has raised $10 million in Series C funding from Qualcomm Ventures with participation from Flybridge Capital Partners, Foundation Medical, and Highland Capital. The company will use the new funding for continuing to grow and develop its technology.

Bunker Hill Capital has acquired SAP information technology consulting solutions provider Rizing, which additionally raised $29.5 million in senior credit facilities from Bunker Hill Capital with participation from Abascus Finance Group and Webster Bank. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

France-based Information technology services company Atos has agreed to acquire Xerox’s information-technology outsourcing business for $1.1 billion. The company has reported revenue of $1.3 billion, representing a 0.8x revenue and a 9.1x EBIT multiple. The transaction will enable Xerox to increase its focus on its BPO and outsourcing businesses within its Services segment.


Scribe services provider PhysAssist Scribes, which leverages trained staff to enhance physician productivity and compliance, has been acquired by TeamHealth, a provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
