Finland-based mobile games studio Seriously has raised $5 million in a round of funding form Upfront Ventures, Sunstone Capital, and Daher Capital. The company has raised $10 million to date.

Canada-based mobile messaging app Kik has raised $38.3 million in Series C funding led by Valiant Capital Partners with participation from Millennium Technology Value Partners, SV Angel, Foundation Capital, RRE Ventures, Spark Capital, and Union Square Ventures. The company has raised $70.5 million to date, and has used the new capital to acquire GIF messaging app Relay. Relay will integrate with Kik services as Kik looks to expand its technology and talent base.

Email advertising and market research company Return Path, a provider of consumer shopping behavior analytics, has acquired Motely Bunch, a developer of parse unstructured email data. The acquisition will support Return Path’s existing marketing intelligence solutions while creating new ways to generate insight from consumer data. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SaaS mobile advertising startup Kiip, which provides a loyalty engagement platform for brand apps, has raised and undisclosed amount of funding from Verizon Ventures. The company will use the new capital for product development.

Bellhops, a tech-enabled on demand platform for moving help, has raised $6 million in Series A funding led by Binary Capital with participation from QueensBridge Venture Partners, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Lowercase Capital, and Binary Capital. Books International a provider of fulfillment services for publishers, has acquired a majority stake in Cloud View Technologies, a provider web applications for eBook fulfillment, digital content delivery, and title management. The acquisition allows Books International to provider turn-key digital fulfillment and distribution solutions for publishers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Marcus Buckingham Company, a provider of strengths-based performance tools and content, has raised $5 million in Series A funding from SurveryMonkey. The company will use the new capital for developing coaching and performance technique services for enterprises.

Cloud presentation platform Prezi has raised $57 million in a round of funding led by Spectrum Equity with participation from Accel Partners. The company will use the new capital for accelerating its global growth.

Germany-based SimScale, a web-based platform for engineering simulation, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Earlybird Venture Capital, High-Tech Gruenderfonds, and Bayern Capital. The company will use the new funding for developing the simulation functionality of its product which will allow it to address further industries.

Valence Health, which provides medical management and data analysis for hospitals, has raised $15 million in a round of funding led by Heritage Group. The company will use the new capital for additional software development, sales and marketing, and client management resources.

Endgame, a provider of security intelligence and analytics solutions for large enterprises, has raised $30 million in Series C funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Paladin Capital Group, Columbia Capital, KPCB, Edgemore Capital, Top Tier Capital Partners, and Savano Capital Partners. The company will use the new funding for hiring engineers, data scientist, and malware analysts and scaling its federal business while accelerating growth across the enterprise security market.

Cloud security provider CipherCloud has raised $50 million in Series B funding led by Transamerica Ventures with participation from Delta Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, and Deutsche Telecom. The company has raised $80 million to date, and will use the new capital for hiring new talent, expanding its sales and marketing efforts in new markets, and accelerating go-to-market activities.

Providence Equity Partners has acquired a majority stake in VendorSafe Technologies, a provider of cloud-managed IT security services for small businesses’ information, payment systems, and Wi-Fi networks. The acquisition will help VendorSafe expand from retailers and grocers into the related addressable markets of hospitality and healthcare. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

iMedX, a provider of health information and medical documentation solutions, has acquired medical documentation companies Superior Global Solutions and Medwrite. The acquisition augments iMedX’s growth strategy and expands its client base and talent. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Boathouse Capital portfolio Accurate Background, a provider of employment and screening services, has acquired background screening company Hirease. The acquisition provides Accurate with expanded industry solutions and enhanced platform capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Capability management platform Smarterer has been acquired by PluralSight, a provider of online training for developers and IT professionals, for $75 million. The acquisition comes on the heels of PlualSight’s $135 million round of funding from Sorensen Capital and Iconiq Capital. The acquisition will allow Pluralsight to incorporate Smarterer’s assessments into its subscription-based platform.
