The company will use the new capital to launch a premium marketplace for male fashion.

Rover.com, which provides an online community for matching dog owners with in-home dog sitters, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from A-GRade Investments. The additional round of funding comes on top of the recent $12 million Series C raised by the company, with backing from Menlo Ventures, Madrona Venture Group, Foundry Group, and PetcoTM.

Sheknows.com, provider of a woman’s lifestyle media platform, has acquired cross media platform network BlogHer, which provides at scale quality advocacy for brands targeting the female demographic. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

South Africa-based Gloo Digital Design, a firm that specializes in creative campaign solutions for the digital media space, has been acquired by WPP’s Ogilvy and Mather. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.  The transaction continues WPP’s strategy of developing integrated services and strengthening its capabilities in the digital media space.

Scotland-based analytics and game personalization platform provider DeltaDNA has raised $3 million in Series A funding led by Edge Performance VCT with participation by Par Equity and STV Group. The new investment brings the company’s total funding to $5 million.

Japan-based online research provider Macromill has announced that it will merge with MEtrixLab, a provider of marketing insights and analytics. The acquisition will augment Macromill’s client base, and provide the companies with broader global reach.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gigya, a provider of a customer identity management platform, has raised $35 million in growth capital led by Intel Capital with participation from Common Fund Capital, Vintage Investment Partners, Adobe, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Greenspring Associates, Advance Publications, and Mayfield Fund. The company will use the new capital for expanding its sales, marketing, and client services teams.

Pendo, a provider of an engagement platform for product managers, has raised $1 million in a round of funding led by Core Capital Partners and Contour Venture Partners with participation from IDEAFund Partners. The company will use the new capital for customer adoption.

UK-based retail analytics company CheckoutSmart, which develops a cashback app for supermarket shoppers, has raised $2.4 million in a round of funding from undisclosed investors.

Mobile marketing, loyalty, and payment company Proxama has acquired Aconite Technologies, a provider of EMV enablement and smart product management software. The acquisition will allow Proxama to provide end-to-end solutions for card issuers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Customer loyalty program startup Thanx has raised $4.7 million in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital. The company has raised $6 million to date, and has partnered with both Visa and MasterCard. The company will use the new funds for creating more products in its marketing campaign suite and for building out its engineering and sales department.

Document productivity company Nitro Software has raised $15 million a round of funding led by Battery Ventures. The company will use the new capital for accelerating  growth and adoption of its new cloud offering with particular emphasis on expansion in the UK.

Israel-based Stratoscale, which provides a software platform for hyper-convergence, has raised $32 million in Series B funding from Intel Capital with participation from Cisco Investment, SanDisk, Battery Ventures, and Bessemer Venture Partners. The company will use the new capital for completing product development and for growing out its global sales and marketing.

Global payment gateway provider Blue Snap, which enables the checkout process for eCommerce merchants, has raised $50 million in growth equity funding from Great Hill Partners with participation from Parthenon Capital Partners. The company will use the new capital to expand operations for its global business and pursue strategic acquisitions.

Cloud service provider Fusion Telecommunications (NASDAQ:FSNN) has acquired cloud-based communications service provider PingTone in a cash and stock deal valued at $10 million. The acquisition expands Fusion into the government sector and will immediately add to its earnings.

Engineering solutions provider QuEST Global has acquired NeST Software, a technology company which offers customized software development services for engineering applications and product development. The acquisition will help QuEST to expand into the core markets of Japan, Western Europe, and the US. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Blackstone Group and GS Capital Partners portfolio company Ipreo, a provider of market intelligence and productivity solutions to capital markets, has acquired Shareholder InSite, a provider of shareholder data management, analytics, reporting, and valuation solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Paracosm, a provider of cloud-based 3D mapping software, has raised $3.3 million in a round of funding led by Atlas Ventures with participation from BOLDstart Ventures, New World Angels, and Deep Fork Capital.

Namely, a developer of HR software, has raised $12 million in Series B funding from Matrix Partners with participation from True Ventures, Lerer Ventures, and Bullpen Capital. The company has raised $22 million to date and will use the capital for accelerating growth in a competitive field.

MedImmune, the biologic research and development arm of AstraZeneca, has acquired Definiens, a provider of imaging and data analysis technology for the healthcare sector, for $150 million.

Data management solutions provider AIM Software has agreed to acquire Joss Technology, a legal entity solutions provider. Joss Technology will operate as part of AIM Software North America, and will release a new business application focused on the data related to counterparties and issuers.
