Fadel Partners, a provider of IP rights and royalty management software, has completed a Series A round of funding for an undisclosed amount led by Middle East Venture Partners. The company intends on using the new capital to invest in sales, marketing, and product development.

mParticle, which provides a platform for mobile data integration, has raised $1.5 million in funding from return investors Bowery Capital, Harbinger Capital, and Battery Ventures.  The new funding is in addition to a previous round which raised $4.5 million, and the new capital will be used for continued growth.

Jukely, a provider of a social concert discovery and recommendation service, has received $2.4 million in funding led by Northzone and 14W. The company plans to use the capital to expand operations.

Spain-based Ticketbis.net, which provides an online platform for buying and selling tickets, has raised $6.6 million in a round led by Active Venture Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to bed down in markets where it already operates.

Vera&John, an online gaming company and developer of mobile casino platform, has been acquired by Intertain Group (TSX:IT) for $126.1 million.

ecommerce

TotSpot, which provides a marketplace for children’s clothing, has raised $1.8 million in a round led by BGGV Captial with participation from 500 Startups and Queensbridge Venture Partners. The company plans to use the capital to expand its mobile marketplace.

Peel, which provides a smart remote control app, has raised $50 million in funding from Alibaba (NYSE:BABA). The company previously raised $30 million from Alibaba, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Translink Capital.

Xyo, a Germany-based provider of an app discovery engine, has been acquired by Mandalay (NASDAQ:MNDL). Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The two companies operate in the same spaceand Xyo had received funding prior to the acquisition.

Applovin, a provider of a mobile advertisement platform, has made a talent-focused acquisition of Moboqo, a Germany-based developer of a mobile ad network. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

public relations

UK-based public relations agency Johnson King has been acquired by Finn Partners, a provider of public relations and communications services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition continues the company’s goal of international expansion.

Box, an enterprise-focused cloud storage and productivity company, has acquired MedXT, which provides a cloud-based file storage system for medical imaging, with the backing of Y Combinator. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition will help Box to expand into the healthcare vertical.

Canada-based Ranovus, a provider of solutions for datacenter and communications networks, has raised $24 million in funding from Azure Capital Ventures, T-Venture, BDC Venture Capital, OMERS Ventures, and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund.

Digital Reasoning Systems, a provider of cognitive computing solutions, has raised $24 million in Series C funding led by Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse NEXT Investors. The company will use the capital for financial services expansion and to accelerate cognitive computing innovation.

Exact Holding NV, a Netherlands-based provider of industry specific software for small businesses, has been acquired by Apax Partners for $925.6 million dollars.

PillPack, a provider of a pharmacy medication management platform, has raised $8.8 million in funding in a round led by Accel Partners with participation from Atlas Ventures, High Line Venture Partners, and Queensbridge Venture Partners.

UK-based 10 Minutes With, a career matching service for graduates, has raised $4 million from undisclosed investors. The company plans to use the capital to accelerate growth worldwide with a planned expansion to the U.S.

UK-based Move Guides, a developer of employee relocation software, has raised $8.2 million in Series A funding led by New Enterprise Associates with return participation from Norton Capital.

Zenedge, a provider of a security platform, has raised $3.5 million in Series A funding from Angel investors. The company plans to use the new capital to reach a broader client base.

Information & Business Services

market research

Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), operates as a media measurement and information company serving the entertainment, television, video, and advertising,  has acquired the US television measurement business of WPP’s Kantar business unit for $98 million. The transaction, when closed, will include Kantar Media’s customer contracts and customer relationships involved in U.S. television measurement.
