Vista Equity Partners has acquired TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX), a provider of enterprise infrastructure and business intelligence software. The deal is valued at approximately $4.3 billion (including the assumption of debt), or $24 per share. Goldman Sachs managed the sale process, which had included interest from Thoma Bravo.

Zufog, which offers data analytics services, was acquired by DSA Property Group, which is a real estate holdings company. Terms were not disclosed.

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ:HURN), which is a provider of business consulting services, has acquired Threshold Consulting, which offers cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, data warehousing, and business intelligence (BI) solutions, as well as customer relationship management (CRM) consulting capabilities.  Threshold’s business complements Huron’s existing enterprise performance management (EPM), BI, and analytics offerings. Terms were not disclosed.

Bluestem Brands, which operates as a multi-channel retailer of a selection of name brand and private label general merchandise, was acquired by Capmark Financial Group for $565 million.

Dollar Shave Club, a subscription razor delivery service, has raised $50 million in Series C funding led by TCV. The company will use the new capital to hire new team members and expand operations.


SK Planet (South Korea) acquired Shopkick, an in-store shopping app. Terms were not disclosed. Shopkick has raised around $15 million in VC funding from Greylock, Citigroup, Kleiner Perkins and SV Angel.

Privcap Media, a digital communications company serving the private capital markets, has raised $1.3 million in second-round funding from undisclosed institutional and individual investors. The company offers video programs and digital publications via two online channels. With the new capital, Privcap Media plans to expand its editorial and sales team as well as develop a series of industry events.

InnoLight Technology, a China-based provider of cloud computing optical transceivers, has raised $38 million in Series C funding co-led by Google Capital and Lightspeed China Partners. Existing shareholders include Oriza Holdings and Acorn Campus.



Israel-based Argus Cyber Security, a developer of automotive cyber security solutions, raised $4 million in Series A funding from Magma Venture Partners and Vertex Venture Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to develop its solutions.

BancTec, which offers business process outsourcing, financial transaction automation, and document management services, has acquired SourceHOV, which provides business process solutions, strategic consulting, and data analytics services. Terms were not disclosed.

Credit Karma, a provider of consumer credit score tracking solutions, has raised $75 million funding from Google Capital, Tiger Global Management, and Susquehanna Growth Equity. The company, which has now raised more than $193.5 million in total, plans on using the new capital to further advance its growth initiatives and ongoing product innovation.

Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA) has acquired a 15 percent stake in Beijing Shiji Information Technology, a Chinese provider of technology solutions to the hospitality market, for approximately $459 million.

Akeneo, a France-based developer of open-source software, has raised $2.4 million in funding led by Alven Capital with participation from Kima Ventures and Nestadio Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to strengthen its France-based technical teams to develop its solutions and expand in Germany and the USA.

UK-based QuBit, which operates a customer data platform, has raised $26 million in Series B funding led by Accel Partners, with participation from Balderton Capital and Salesforce Ventures. The company plans on using the new capital to expand its presence in the US and accelerate its ongoing program of product innovation.


SoftBank has offered to acquire animation studio DreamWorks Animation (Nasdaq: DWA) for $3.4 billion.
