Genares, which operates an online hotel reservation system that offers reservations for various hotels worldwide, was acquired by Sabre (Nasdaq:SABR), which provides technology solutions to the travel and tourism industry. Terms were not disclosed.


Ifbyphone, which is a provider of voice-based marketing automation solutions, has raised $30 million in funding led by  NewSpring Capital with participation from Apex Venture Partners, SSM Partners, Origin Ventures, River City Capital Funds, i2A Illinois Accelerator Fund, and Spring Mill Venture Partners. The company intends on using the new capital to complete the acquisition of Mongoose Metrics, a provider of call tracking, measurement and attribution, and to develop call tracking and management technologies for its Voice360 platform. Terms were not disclosed.

Deluxe has acquired Germany-based Mediapeers, which is a provider of B2B cloud software that helps content owners market and sell their movie and television assets. Terms were not disclosed. Mediapeers had raised VC funding from T-Venture, Fintage House, and Telepool.


Germany-based Memorado, which provides mini-games aimed at improving the cognitive abilities of users, which are available via its website and mobile applications, has raised $1.3 million in seed funding led by Sunstone Capital with participation from angel investors. The company plans on using the new capital to continue to expand operations.

Sweden-based Tink, which provides personal finance mobile app, has raised $4 million in Series A funding led by Sunstone Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to expand in Europe and hiring new team members.

Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) has acquired Polar (Input Factory), which is a provider of a photo-focused online polling company, for an undisclosed amount. Polar had raised just under $3 million in VC funding from Battery Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, Greylock Israel, Morado Venture Partners, and Webb Investment Network.

Sales and marketing consulting firm MAC Venture Group was acquired by Valuesetters (OTCPK:VSTR), which operates as an internet-based gaming company, for $20,000.

AltspaceVR, which provides a social platform for virtual reality, has raised $5.2 million in seed funding led by Dolby Family Ventures, Formation 8, Google Ventures, Lux Capital, Foundation Capital, Rothenberg Ventures, SV Angel, Haystack Fund, Tencent, Raine Ventures, Promus Ventures, and Western Technology Investment.

Australia-based VostroCloud, which provides unified data center services to IT providers, was acquired by Runge ICT, which provides information technology solutions. The acquisition of VostroCloud will enable Runge ICT to expand their infrastructure presence to Sydney. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based Movirtu, which develops and markets identity solutions for mobile operators, was acquired by BlackBerry (TSX:BB), which provides wireless communications solutions worldwide. Movirtu’s technology allows smartphone users to have a separate personal and work phone number attached to one device. Terms were not disclosed.

Brazil-based Plus Talent, which operates as a talent management company, was acquired by digital entertainment content company SFX Entertainment (NasdaqGS:SFXE). Terms were not disclosed.


GIC, PSP Investments, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan have invested a combined $700 million into XPO Logistics (NYSE: XPO), for approximately a 21 percent equity stake. The logistics company is expected to use the proceeds to fund acquisitions.
