Wantable, which operates an eCommerce discovery services for beauty products, fashion accessories, and apparel, has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding led by unnamed contributors. The company will use the new capital to expand its business, hire new people, and improve its technology.

Cardcash.com, which provides a marketplace for secondary gift cards, has acquired Plastic Jungle, which owns and operates a web exchange for pre-owned gift cards and other currencies. Plastic Jungle had raised $23.4 million in venture funding from Shasta Ventures, Jafco Ventures, First Round Capital, Bay Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Harrison Metal, Western Technology Investment, and Citi Ventures.

Online vacation rental booking service Vakast has raised $1.3 million in funding led by angel investors.

Mobile gaming company Kabam, has raised $120 million in funding from Alibaba, which values the company at $1 billion. The two companies have entered into a strategic collaboration to publish Kabam mobile games in China across Alibaba Group’s mobile applications including Mobile Taobao and Laiwang.

Resy Network, which provides an online mobile application for restaurant reservations, has raised $2 million in funding led by Vayner/RSE and Lerer Ventures with participation from Panarea Capital, A-Grade Holdings, Slow Ventures, and angel investors.

The company plans on using the new capital to move into new markets and to grow the demand and supply sides of its business.

Fully integrated advertising agency Pitch was acquired by Project: Worldwide, which operates a global network of agencies. Terms were not disclosed.

Homes & Land, which offers an integrated real estate media platform, was acquired by Lion Equity Partners from Endurance Business Media. Terms were not disclosed.

AV-IQ, which provides unified communications, was acquired by NewBay Media, a publisher of commercial AV magazines. The addition of AV-IQ  strengthens NewBay Media’s ability to serve the commercial AV market, and expand the company’s data, analytics, and lead generation capabilities.

Mattermark, which provides a data platform for VCs, has raised $2 million in funding led by Arnold Capital, Sierra Maya Ventures, and angel investors.

Eagle Eye Networks, which provides security and operations video management systems provider, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series B funding from MSD Capital.

Mitro, which provides security software solutions for password-sharing, was acquired by Twitter (NYSE:TWTR). Mitro had raised $1.2 million in funding from Google Ventures and Matrix Partners.

India-based Portea Medical, which provides home healthcare provider, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Qualcomm Ventures. The company plans on using the new capital to continue to develop its technology platform and expand operations.

hr consulting

The Wright Group Services, which provides employee benefits, property, and casualty insurance and retirement services, has sold to Assured Partners, which is an insurance brokerage investor.  Terms were not disclosed.
