Trulia  (NYSE:TRLA), which provides tools to research homes for consumers through web and  mobile applications, was acquired by Zillow (Nasdaq:Z), which provides free online real estate information and data services, for $3.5 billion at a valuation of 20.1x revenue. The two brands attract mostly separate customer bases. Both sites will continue to operate separately in order to play off the appeal across different consumer groups.

Decision Lens, which provides a cloud-based analytics platform for large enterprises, has raised $6.5 million in funding led by Vision Thinkers.  The company intends on using the new capital for product development, marketing, and sales.

Mattersight (Nasdaq:MATR), which provides enterprise analytics, has raised $12 million in funding from unnamed contributors. The new capital will be used for general corporate and working capital purposes.


OmPrompt, which provides customer automation management, has raised $4.2 million in funding led by Albion Ventures with participation from Shackleton Ventures. The company plans on using the new capital for sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships.

Leanplum, which provides a mobile analytics platform, has raised $4.8 million in Series A funding at a valuation north of $15 million. The new capital came from Shasta Ventures and will be used to expand the company’s team and begin marketing its platform.

India-based Peel-Works, which provides salesforce solutions, has raised $2 million in Series A funding led by Inventus Capital Partners and IDG Venture India. The company plans on using the new capital to expand its existing offerings, hire senior management, and ramp up technology and product development, as well as grow in global markets.

Smart kitchen startup The Orange Chef has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from M7 Tech Partners, which is the investment arm of professional athlete Carmelo Anthony. The company had previously raised $3 million in funding from Google Ventures and Spark Labs.

Radio streaming mobile application Swell, is reportedly in talks to sell to Apple (Nasdaq:APPL) for around $30 million. Swell has received $7.2 million in venture funding from DFJ, Google Ventures, and InterWest Partners.

Brazil-based Easy Taxi, mobile taxi application in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, has raised $40 million in Series D funding led by Phenomen Ventures with participation from Tengelmann Ventures. The company, which has now raised $77 million in funding to date, plans on using the new capital to help continue its expansion in Latin America and Asia.

ChoiceStream, which provides a full-service programmatic media-buying company, has raised $7.5 million in Series B funding led by Fred Alger Management with participation from individual investors. The company plans on using the new capital to expand its programmatic platform by investing in survey-based targeting, dynamic creative, and audience insights capabilities.

DoubleVision Networks, which provides a mobile audience buying and targeting platform, was acquired by Single Touch Systems (OTCBB:SITO), which offers technology-based mobile media solutions that services advertisers, retailers, and brands.  Terms were not disclosed.

Poland-based Docplanner, which provides online services for finding and booking appointments with medical and dental professionals, has acquired Turkey-based Eniyihekim, which also operates an online appointment booking platform. As part of the acquisition, the company will invest capital and expertise into Eniyihekim and will focus on bolstering its sales and customer care teams, along with optimizing and promoting its mobile app. Terms were not disclosed.

CDS Topco, which provides direct-to-home satellite pay TV services, has sold a majority stake to Astorg Partners from Providence Equity Partners. Terms were not disclosed.

BookLamp, which provides a platform that offers users suggestions for books to read based on natural language analysis of other titles, was acquired by Apple (Nasdaq:APPL).  The acquisition will enable Apple to improve its recommendation services. Terms were not disclosed.

Eventure Interactive (OTCBB:EVTI), which provides application development software solutions, has raised $4.1 million in funding from Kodiak Capital Group.

TangoMe, which provides a mobile messaging application, has raised $8 million in funding. To facilitate the secondary offering, Tango joined Nasdaq Private Market, which is the new capital market for private companies.


Italy-based Arcares, which provides enterprise resource planning systems, was acquired from Visiant by Lutech, which designs and develops software for information and communication technology infrastructures and services. Terms were not disclosed.


Belgium-based Z-Safety Systems, which provides safety monitoring systems, was acquired from Z-Group by Total Safety, which provides industrial safety services. Terms were not disclosed.

Hungary-based Bits of Proof, which provides a software development platform to bitcoin companies, was acquired by bitcoin mining hardware firm CoinTerra. Terms were not disclosed.

Israel-based Genieo Innovation (fka Anabel Software), which develops desktop applications that create a start page with relevant content and ad hoc personalized news widgets, was acquired by Israel-based Somoto (TASE:SMTO) for $33.4 million.
