Karmaloop, which is an online retailer specializing in streetwear fashion, has raised $13 million in senior facility funding from CapX Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to enhance operating initiatives and maintain its market position.

Activehours, which provides a mobile application that gives hourly workers access to their earned wages, has raised $4.1 million in seed funding led by Ribbit Capital and Felicis Ventures.

Germany-based Quandoo (dba Squido), which provides a reservation and revenue management systems, has raised $25 million in Series C funding led by Piton Capital with participation from Holtzbrinck Ventures and DN Capital. The new capital will be used to expand the company across Europe.

Sweden-based Admeta, which provides an online advertising platform solution for advertisers and publishers, was acquired by WideOrbit, which offers business management software solutions for media companies. Admeta is the third company that WideOrbit has acquired recently as part of a strategic initiative to expand its digital offering. Terms were not disclosed.

ORLive.com, which produces digital videos to demonstrate the latest surgical techniques and health related product innovations, was acquired by BroadcastMed, which also provides digital video content. The OrLive platform will be integrated into the BroadcastMed Network, which expands the company’s audience of physicians and other allied healthcare professionals. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based Glow Digital Media, which provides social advertising optimization services, has raised $7 million in Series A funding led by Notion Capital and White Star Capital with participation from Project A Ventures and Avonmore Developments. The company plans on using the new capital to further international expansion and continue product development of its platform.

SmartZip Analytics, which provides a real estate predictive marketing platform, has raised $12 million in Series B funding led by Crest Capital Ventures with participation from Claremont Creek Ventures and Intel Capital. Business intelligence platform Quantifind has raised $12 million in funding led by Comcast Ventures and Iris Capital with participation from existing investors. The company plans on using the new capital to accelerate investments in its product development, as well as grow its sales and client services teams to scale the business.

Newspaper publishing company The Providence Journal was acquired by New Media Investment Group from A.H. Belo Corporation (NYSE:AHC), for $46 million.

Online tax platform Beanstalk has raised $2 million in seed funding led by New Enterprise Associates with participation from EPIC Ventures and Deep Fork Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to continue building out its core tax technology and to further grow its company.

Canada-based FreshBooks, which provides cloud accounting solutions for small service-based business owners, has raised $30 million in funding from Oak Investment Partners with participation from Atlas Venture and Georgian Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to continue expanding its team.

Seven Arts Entertainment (OTCPK:SAPX), which operates as an independent motion picture production and distribution company, has acquired Aeronetworks and IPTerra Technologies from Sanwire Corporation (OTCPK:SNWR). Aeronetworks and IPTerra are providers of wireless communications, broadband services, and video streaming technologies. Terms were not disclosed.

Orchard Laboratories, which provides a platform for application development and management tools, was acquired by Docker, which offers an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. Terms were not disclosed.

Azalea Health, which provides cloud-based healthcare solutions and services, has merged with simplifyMD, which offers electronic health records (EHR). The combined companies will offer cloud-based healthcare management and medical billing solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Canada-based Realnet, which provides real estate information services, was acquired from CB Richard Ellis by Altus Group (TSX:AIF), which offers commercial real estate consulting and advisory services. The acquisition broadens RVA’s market data and research offerings, particularly that of Altus InSite. Terms were not disclosed.

FASTSIGNS, which provides a range of marketing services that enable customers to increase their business visibility, was acquired by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners from Roark Capital Group. Terms were not disclosed. The acquisition will enable FASTSIGNS to continue the growth of its brand.
