Australia-based Canva, which offers tools that enable users to create and collaborate on design online, has raised $3.6 million in funding co-led by Shasta Ventures and Founders Fund with participation from Matrix Partners, Blackbird Ventures, and Square Peg Capital.

SimpleReach, which is a provider of content measurement and distribution, has raised $9 million in Series A funding led by MK Capital, with participation from Atlas Venture, Village Ventures, and High Peaks Venture Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to invest in technology and grow operations.

Social media analytics provider Entrinsic was acquired by Canada-based Engagement Labs (TSXV:EL), which offers integrated social media platform that enables crowdsourcing, social engagement, and social media monitoring, for $1.4 million. Entrinsic had revenues of approximately $2.4 million and an adjusted EBITDA of $366,000 in 2013.

Spain-based Social Point, which develops mobile games, has raised $30 million in funding led by Highland Capital Partners Europe with participation from Idinvest. The company has now raised $44.7 million in funding to date.

Vast Studios, which develops video games for the mobile and PC markets, was acquired by social gaming software solutions provider ISIS Lab (TSXV:LAB) for $1.6 million.

Peerlyst, which provides a social networking platform for IT and security professionals, has raised $3 million in seed funding led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners with participation from Illuminate Ventures. The company is currently in beta mode.

Games Advertising

Supersonic (fka SupersonicAds), which offers a social in-game advertising platform utilizing virtual currency monetization, has raised $15 million in Series B funding led by SAIF Partners and Greylock Partners. The company, which has raised $23.2 million in funding to date, plans on using the new capital to expand into Asia.

Urban Compass, which provides a home rentals platform, has raised $40 million in Series B funding led by Advance Publications, Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, .406 Ventures, and individual investors. The company, which has now raised $73 million in funding, plans on using the new capital to invest in technology, grow its operations in New York, and expand to other cities throughout the United States.

AppDynamics, which develops application performance management and monitoring solutions that are designed to monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and scale production applications, has raised $170 million adding $120 million in equity to a $50 million debt round announced in June. The latest funding comes from Battery Ventures, ClearBridge Investments, Sands Capital, Greylock Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Institutional Venture Partners. The new round of funding values the company at over $1 billion.

LogRhythm, which develops security management appliances, has raised $40 million in funding led by Riverwood Capital, with participation from Adams Street Partners, Access Venture Partners, and Piper Jaffray. The company plans on using the new capital to accelerate investment in product development, sales and marketing, and customer service.

Canada-based Privacy Analytics, which provides organizations with enterprise software to safeguard and enable data for secondary purposes using a risk-based approach that optimizes the analytic utility of anonymized data sets, has raised $3.5 million in funding from Vanedge Capital with participation from BDC IT Venture Fund and Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. The company plans on using the new capital to increase sales and marketing efforts, as well as bolster the development of its software solutions.

BEW Global, which provides information and network security services, has raised $14 million in funding led by Frontier Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to grow operations.
