Predictive Edge had received seed funding from Great Oaks Venture Capital and individual angels. This is Dropbox’s 17th acquisition; with five of the last six of companies focused on services for enterprises Terms were not disclosed.

Text analytics startup Luminoso Technologies, has raised $6.5 million in Series A funding led by Acadia woods, with participation from Digital Garage. The new round of funding brings the company’s total capital raised to $8 million.

Workflow communication service provider Tuul, has raised $1.7 million in seed funding led by Greycroft Partners, with participation from Raine Group, Streamlined Ventures, as well as unnamed media and tech angel investors.

Norway-based search engine optimization provider Idium, was acquired by Eniro Norge, which offers directory publishing and assistance services for $5.4 million. The acquisition complements and strengthens Eniro’s offering in the Campaign products revenue area and will lead to cost synergies.

Custom hospital and healthcare web development company AVID Design, was acquired by Myelin Health Communications, a healthcare communications platform serving healthcare payers and provider and a portfolio company of Baird Capital. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based BlablaCar, which offers a carpooling marketplace that connects any driver who has empty seats with paying passengers, has raised $100 million in Series C funding led by Index Ventures, with participation from Accel Partners, ISAI, and Lead Edge Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to expand into new markets beyond Europe.

MakersKit, an online retailer of do-it-yourself project kits, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by Tribeca Venture Partners, with participation from Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Mesa+, Greycroft Partners, and individual investors. The company plans on using the new capital to expand operations, scale production, and hire new team members.

Spain-based Percentil.com, online children’s clothing consignment shop, has raised $1.4 million in funding led by Active Venture Partners, with participation from Cabiedes & Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to scale its business for European expansion.

Online retailer of health and wellness products Vitacost.com (Nasdaq:VITC), was acquired by retailer and manufacturer The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) for $272.4 million, at a valuation of 0.6x revenue.

Moven, a mobile application that keeps track of a user’s spending, has raised $8 million in Series A funding led by SBT Venture Capital, with participation from Route 66 Ventures, Standard Bank, Anthemis Group, and angel investors. The company intends to use the funds to invest in the product with new features and tools, as well as add strategic partners worldwide.

Mobile dating application Hinge, has raised $4.5 million in Series B funding led by Founders Fund and Lowercase Capital.

Facebook (NasdaqGS:FB) has acquired LiveRail, an online video distribution and ad-platform. Facebook reportedly paid between $400 million to $500 million for LiveRail. LiveRail had previously raised $12 million in Series C funding from Pond Ventures. Terms were not disclosed.

Search and digital marketing agency RKG, was acquired by customer relationship marketing agency Merkle. This acquisition marks Merkle’s second digital agency acquisition in 2014. Terms were not disclosed.

3i Group has sold its minority stake in UK-based architectural firm Foster + Partners back to company management for $119.7 million, after a seven-year holding period.

Branded content and digital marketing company MASH+STUDIO, was acquired by digital agency York & Chapel. Terms were not disclosed.

Israel-based cloud storage services platform CTERA Networks, has raised $25 million in Series C funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Benchmark Capital, Cisco, and Venrock. The company plans on using the new capital to accelerate adoption of its platform.

Enterprise demand-side management software company EnergySavvy, has received an additional $1.3 million in funding led by EnerTech Capital and El Dorado Investment Company. The company, which has now raised $8.3 million in total funding, plans on using the new capital to scale its engineering and sales.

financial software

Vista Equity Partners’ portfolio company Taxware, a provider of indirect tax software, managed services and regulatory content, is merging with Convey Compliance Systems, a company that offers cloud-based tax information reporting solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

hr software

Job search platform Simply Hired, has received $12 million in a combination of equity and debt financing from Foundation Capital and IDG Ventures, as well as City National Bank. The company plans on using the funds for ongoing innovation in job search and job seeker user experience and sales growth in the U.S.

security software

SyntaxTree, which provides a software to debug unity games, was acquired by Microsoft (NasdaqGS:MSFT). Microsoft plans to fold the functionality of the plug-in, called UnityVS, into Visual Studio. It will also post the plug-in online so that users can download it for free. Terms were not disclosed.

video communications software

RadVision, which provides a development and test suite for voice and VOIP communications, has sold its technology business unit to communications test and measurement company Spirent Communications (LSE:SPT), for $25 million. Spirent will integrate RadVision’s technology business solutions into its test solutions.
