Coherent Path, a provider of a cloud-based analytics and engagement platform that allows retailers to map customer journeys and optimize customer interactions around long-term objectives, has raised $6.3 million in venture financing led by Sigma Prime Ventures and GrandBanks Capital, with participation from Common Angels, dunnhumby Ventures, and BOLDstart Ventures. The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales and marketing teams.

WellAware Holdings, a remote monitoring and predictive analytics platform for oilfield operators, has raised $37 million in growth equity funding led by Activant Capital Group, with participation from individual investors.

Distractify, a New York-based media platform that allows people to create and discover content, raised $7 million in Series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Lerer Ventures, Advancit Capital, and the CAA. The company intends to use the funds to expand the team, move into new verticals, and launch mobile products.


LaSalle Capital has acquired Avtex Solutions, a provider of customer experience technology solutions, from Marquette Cos., a unit of the Pohlad Cos. Terms were not disclosed.

Epoxy, a startup that has created a suite of tools to help online content creators distribute videos, engage audiences, and monetize content, has raised $6.5 million in Series A funding led by Upfront Ventures and Time Warner Investments, with participation from Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Advancit Capital, Greycroft Partners, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Downey Ventures.

Phunware, a provider of “multiscreen-as-a-service” solutions, has raised $30.7 million in Series E funding led by Samsung Ventures. Other company shareholders include Firsthand Technology Value Fund, Fraser McCombs Ventures, Cisco, WWE, Maxima Ventures, Wild Basin Investment , and the Central Texas Angel Network. The new capital brings the company’s total funding to $48.3 million.

Online marketplace Etsy has acquired a France-based A Little Market (dba Incubart SAS), an online marketplace for handmade items, from Xange Private Equity. Etsy’s previous founding rounds, in which it raised $40 million led by Index Ventures in May 2012, was intended to specifically for international expansion. Terms were not disclosed.

Fingerprint, a San Francisco-based developer of mobile apps for kids, has raised $10.9 million in Series B funding led by DreamWorks Animation SKG. The company intends on using the new capital to continue to develop new games, apps, videos and ebooks for partner networks around the world.

Patreon, a platform that allows fans to become patrons of their favorite artists, has raised $15 million in funding in Series A funding led by Index Ventures, Atlas Venture, Charles River Ventures, SV Angels, Freestyle Capital,and individual angels. The company plans on using the new capital to build a mobile app, iOS, and Android, launch new products, and hire engineers.

MobileRQ, a provider of a contextual mobile marketing platform, has raised $1.3 million in funding led by Verizon Ventures , with participation from Coremix Capital, Rogue Ventures, and TiE Oregon. The company plans on using the new capital to continue scaling its business.

Digital marketplace Choose Digital, which allows users to find and own music videos, movies, TV shows, games, and ebooks, was acquired by Viggle (Nasdaq:VGGL), which provides an interactive platform to create engagement with TV content and targeted advertising through a loyalty program that rewards users. With the acquisition Viggle will be able to use the Choose Digital platform to offer digital media rewards and free entertainment, including music, audiobooks, TV and movies, to Viggle members who participate in its rewards and loyalty programs. Terms were not disclosed.

Private equity firm Segulah has agreed to acquire Lokaltidningen Mitt i AB, a publisher of 31 local newspapers in the Stockholm, Sweden area, from VLT AB. Terms were not disclosed.

Cloud-computing services for entertainment production, Shotgun Software was acquired by software giant Autodesk (Nasdaq:ADSK).The acquisition will bring more resources to improve Shotgun’s offerings and accelerate development. Terms were not disclosed.

CoPatient , a medical bill review platform for spotting overcharges, has raised $3.6 million in Series A funding led by .406 Ventures led the round,  with participation from Cambia Health Solutions.

Wmode, a provider of app ecosystem solutions and services for Cars, TVs, connected devices, and enterprises, has acquired NeoSystems, a company that offers enterprise management solutions provider. The acquisition expands Wmode’s mobile enterprise services with products and technologies for CRM and operations management on connected devices. Terms were not disclosed.

RedOwl Analytics, a company that applies analytics to internal corporate data streams for risk mitigation, has raised $4.6 million in Series A funding led by individual investors. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and expand client portfolio in the financial services, legal & investigative, and government verticals.

MedHelp International, which owns and operates an online health community to share medical information with others in need, was acquired by Physicians Interactive,  which provides an online and mobile sampling service that enables healthcare professionals to access information and support resources from the pharmaceutical industry. Terms were not disclosed.

WebPT, a provider of electronic medical records solutions for rehabilitation therapists, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Battery Ventures.

Management and information technology consulting firm Ajasa Technologies, was acquired by TechDigital, which also provides information technology services as well. The acquisition will enhance TechDigital’s ability to offer services to broad based clients. Terms were not disclosed.
