MICROS Systems (NasdaqGS: MCRS), a provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, was acquired by Oracle (NYSE:ORCL), which develops, markets, and hosts database and middleware software, for $5.3 billion at a valuation of 3.5x revenue and 17.7x EBITDA. The acquisition will serve Oracle as a vertical investment, as well as provide the company with tighter integration between its database and software.

UK-based online optical retailer MyOptique Group, has raised $27.2 million in Series C funding led by Korys and Beringea, with participation from Cipio Partners and Silicon Valley Bank. The company plans on using the new capital to further expand marketing and development efforts, as well as expand into Europe and make acquisitions.

Lifestyle YouTube network MiTu, has raised $10 million in funding led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Advancit Capital. The company plans on using the new capital to expand its network.

Lead Media Partners, which provides online lead generation services to the higher education market and primarily focuses on clients in the vocational and online education segments of the education industry, was acquired by One On One Marketing, which operates an interactive marketing company. Terms were not disclosed.

Germany-based Team Internet, a company that is comprised of two businesses: “Parking Crew”, which provides monetization services to domain owners; and “DNTX”, a performance-oriented marketplace for direct navigation search traffic for desktop and mobile devices, has sold a majority stake to Israel-based Matomy Media Group, which provides digital performance-based marketing solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Experiential marketing agency Promotions Group West (PGW), was acquired by entertainment agency Creative Artists Agency, which provides talent management and literary services. Terms were not disclosed.


AnyPerk, a startup focused on discounts for companies on Internet services and employee perks, has raised $3 million in Seed funding led by Vegas TechFund. The company had previously received $1.5 million in funding from Digital Garage.

Media General (NYSE:MEG) has acquired Sinclair Broadcast Group’s (Nasdaq:SBGI)  WHTM-TV, for $83.4 million. Sinclair previously announced that it would seek to divest the station in connection with its pending acquisition of Allbritton’s broadcasting properties.

SkyHigh Networks, which provides tools to discover, manage, and analyze data from applications used by a company’s employees, has raised $40 million in Series C funding led by SalesForce.com, with participation from Greylock Partners and Sequoia Capital. The company, which has now raised $66.5 million in funding, will use the new capital to accelerate its expansion into international markets, drive product innovation, and analyze and secure solutions.

Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) has sold trading technology providers NYFIX and Metabit to France-based ULLINK, a provider of electronic trading solutions and connectivity to the financial community. Terms were not disclosed. ULLINK is a portfolio company of HgCapital.

Scivantage, a provider of front and middle-office technology solutions to the financial services industry, has raised $20 million in funding led by Comerica Bank and ORIX Ventures, with participation from Brown Brothers Harriman Capital Partners, and Edison Ventures. The company plans on using the new capital for growth and presence expansion in the financial services industry.

Healthcare technology solutions company Capario, was acquired by Emdeon, which provides revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions that connect payers, providers, and patients, from Marlin Equity Partners for $115 million.

UK-based financial services company Ebury, has raised $30 million in expansion capital from Greylock IL, which was a combination of debt and equity financing. The company plans on using the new capital to expand and develop new products and services.

Business and technology firm Zanett Commercial Solutions, which provides solutions ranging from business consulting to infrastructure, was acquired by audit, tax, and advisory firm KMPG. The acquisition will enable KPMG to deliver healthcare technology solutions to enhance patient care and outcomes. Terms were not disclosed.

Israel-based Ness Technologies Israel, which designs and develops software solution for SAP integration and deployment services, was acquired by Hilan (TASE:HILAN), an application service provider for human resource management, for $42 million at a valuation of 0.2x revenue. The acquisition will boost Hilan’s technology business.

Systems and security Management Company Tanium, has raised $90 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz. The company plans on using the new capital to continue product innovation and expansion.


Top Flight Concepts, a provider of innovative freight management solutions, was acquired by third-party logisticsprovider Unisource Corporate (OTC:USRC). Terms were not disclosed.
