Restaurant reservation solutions provider OpenTable (Nasdaq:OPEN), was acquired by online travel company The Priceline Group (Nasdaq:PCLN) for $2.6 billion, at a valuation of 11.6x revenue and 38.4x EBITDA. OpenTable will continue to operate independently. The acquisition takes place only several weeks after TripAdvisor acquired European restaurant reservations platform lafourchette.  The acquisition enables Priceline to fully engage their customers on the go once arriving in a destination.

Germany-based web analytics company Webtrekk, has raised $33.8 million in funding led by Deutsche Private Equity. The new funding will be used to scale up the company and for future acquisitions of other companies.

CRM and ad retargeting solutions provider Vizury, has raised $16 million in Series C funding led by Intel Capital, with participations from Nokia Growth Partners, Ascent Capital, and Inventus Capital Partners. The company, which has now raised $27 million in funding, plans on using the new capital for product innovation of its mobile and cross-channel propositions.

Denmark-based Fitbay, which owns and operates a website that allows users to virtually try on clothing and provides links to shopping, has raised $2 million in funding led by Steadfast Ventures and Creandum. The new funding will be used to grow both the product and commercial team.

Travel blog Gadling, which covers relevant travel stories, tips, and technology, was acquired by travel industry news and information site Skift, from AOL (NYSE:AOL). Gadling was launched in 2004 and was later acquired by AOL as part of a larger acquisition of parent Weblogs. Terms were not disclosed.

Online social community platform Besomebody, has raised $1 million in seed funding led by The E.W. Scripps Company. With the new capital, the company plans on further developing its platform.

Glympse, a provider of location-sharing software for GPS enabled mobile phones, has raised $12 million in Series C funding led by UMC Capital, Verizon Ventures, with participation from Ignition Partners, Menlo Ventures, and Naya Ventures. The company, which has now raised $20 million in funding, plans on using the new capital to grow its team and further invest in products, as well as extend into new verticals with new partnerships.

VigLink, an automated affiliate marketing provider helping publishers and bloggers monetize outbound traffic, has raised $18 million in Series C funding led by RRE Ventures, with participation from Google Ventures, Emergence Capital, First Round Capital, Correlation Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank. The company plans on using the new capital for international expansion.

UK-based Social video network FightMe, has raised $1.4 million in funding led by HTG Ventures, with participation from individual investors. The company plans on using the new capital to grow its team and launch its app, as well as host a series of events.

Czech Republic-based video and digital media solutions provider Visual Unity, has raised $7.2 million in funding led by 3TS Capital Partners. The company plans on using the new funding to expand its global presence.

Pamlico Capital and Clarity Telecom have acquired the broadband assets from WOW Internet Cable & Phone. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based mobile enterprise enabling company 5app, has raised $5.1 million in funding led by Beckman Group. The company plans on using the new capital to launch its suite of new products for enterprises and communication services providers.

Networking security solutions provider Milestone Systems, was acquired by Canon (TSE:7751), a consumer imaging equipment and information systems.

software development tools

Norway-based integrated software development tools platform Outracks Technologies, has raised $3.5 million in funding led by Northzone and Alliance Venture. The company plans on using the new capital to develop its platform, which is currently in beta mode.
