Digital marketing software solutions company Signal, was acquired by BrightTag, which provides tag management solutions for the digital marketing industry. With the acquisition, BrightTag will expand its suite of products for smaller businesses. Terms were not disclosed.

Needle, a provider of an online shopping platform that aims to bring sales advice to people, has raised $7 million in Series C funding led by Shasta Ventures and Rembrandt Venture Partners.

Canada-based Dejero, a company which operates a LIVE platform that allows for transmission of broadcast live video over a mobile network, has raised  $4.1 million in funding from BEST Funds. The new capital raised will allow Dejero to extend their sales growth, as well as continuing the development of company’s technology.

Malauzai Software, a provider of mobile banking applications for community financial institutions, has raised $6.5 million in Series C funding led by Wellington Management Company. The company, which had previously raised $5.3 million, plans on using the new capital to continue the growth of its organization, as well as expand the functionality of its applications.

Spain-based ForceManager, which provides sales force automation software systems, has raised $3.8 million in funding led by Nauta Capital, with participation from Histemi Investments.  The new capital will be used to consolidate the company’s growth, as well as expand internationally and hire team members.

Social media monitoring platform Brandwatch, has raised $22 million in Series B funding led by Highland Capital Partners, with participation from Nauta Capital. The company, which has now raised $31.7 million in funding to date, plans on using the new capital to build its social media monitoring platform.

On-demand restaurant food delivery platform DoorDash, has raised $17.3 million in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Kholsa Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Pejman Mar Ventures, and individual investors. The company, which has raised $19.7 million in funding to date, plans on using the new capital to expand its team, continue developing technology, and pursue national rollout.

Mobile application developer Filament Labs, which provides an interactive care plan delivery platform for healthcare professionals, has raised $1 million in seed funding led by Mercury Fund. The new capital will be used to further develop the company’s mobile platform.

UK-based professional home cleaning booking service Housekeep.com, has raised $1 million in funding led by Pentland Group, with participation from individual investors. The company plans on using the new capital to grow the business rapidly.

Business-to-business agency dnx, was acquired by communications agency OgilvyOne, which provides customer relationship management and interactive marketing solutions.  With the acquisition, Oglivy will form a new B2B agency called “OglivyOne dnx”. Terms were not disclosed.

Golgi, a company providing a data transfer platform for apps and connected devices, has raised $5 million in funding led by Open Mind Networks. The company plans on using the new capital to further expand its software solutions.

Venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners has sold security solutions company Defense.net to F5 Networks (Nasdaq:FFIV), which develops, markets, and sells application delivery networking products that optimize the security, performance, and availability of network applications, servers, and storage systems. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based IT support and services company ISN Solutions, has raised $7.7 million in funding led by Maven Capital Partners. The company plans on using the new capital to expand into international markets.

market research

Technical information provider Autodata Publishing Group, was acquired by mid-market private equity firm Bowmark Capital. The transaction is reportedly valued for $241 million. Equity co-investors included The Rothschild Group and Five Arrows Principal Investments.

Romania-based Daedalus, which provides marketing and research, was acquired by WPP’s global research agency Millward Brown. The acquisition expands Millward Brown’s global footprint in Central and Eastern Europe. Daedalus reported unaudited revenues of $4.9 million for the year ending December 31, 2013. Terms were not disclosed.
