The company, which has raised $17.6 million in funding to date, plans on using the new money to hire team members and develop new products.

CRM platform for restaurants and brands Posiq, has raised $3.2 million in Series A funding led by Thayer Ventures, SVG Partners, and individual investors. The company plans on using the new capital for ongoing product development and expanding sales channels.

Social media consumer insights provider Napkin Labs, was acquired by Chaordix, which provides managed crowdsourcing communities. As part of the acquisition, Chaordix will continue to offer the Napkin Labs solution as a separate product from Crowd Intelligence while the two are integrated into a single solution. Terms were not disclosed.

Social marketing provider Niche, has raised $2.5 million in funding led by SoftTech VC, with participation from Lerer Ventures, SV Angel, Advancit Capital, William Morris Endeavor, and individual investors. The new capital will enable the company to continue building out its platform and team.

DIY craft kit subscription service Darby Smart, has raised $6.3 million in Series A funding led by Maveron, with participation from Forerunner Ventures and CAA Ventures. The company, which previously raised $1 million in seed funding, will use the new capital to create additional tools for designers to grow their businesses and hire new team members.

Life360, which offers a family locator, messaging tool, and communication application, has raised $50 million in Series C funding led by ADT, which invested $25 million in the round. Other participants in the round included Duchossois Capital Partners, DCM, Fontinalis Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Expansion Venture Capital. With the new capital Life360 and ADT plan to develop a mobile application that will provide direct access to ADT’s 24/7 monitoring centers that can connect users to police, fire and emergency medical responders.

Sports-focused online media startup The Whistle, has raised $10 million in funding led by individual investors such as Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, Emil Capital, and Bob Pittman.

Car Demander, a company that connects consumers to cars they want to purchase, was acquired by Vehcon, which designs and develops telematics, mobile data analytics, and mobile applications. The Car Demander solution will be integrated into near-term offerings that Vehcon will introduce into the market starting in Q4 2014. Terms were not disclosed.

Ad agency Grey Advertising, a wholly owned subsidiary of WPP (LSE:WPP), has acquired a majority stake of South Africa-based advertising and communications company The Volcano Group. Once the acquisition is completed, The Volcano Group will be rebranded as “Grey Africa”. For the year ending May 31, 2013, Volcano’s unaudited consolidated revenues were approximately $5.9 million. Terms were not disclosed.

Kazakhstan-based Fifty Four Media, a holding company which through its subsidiaries offers media buying and planning services, has sold a majority stake to Dentsu Aegis Network, a provider of branding, media, and marketing services to customers worldwide. With the acquisition, Fifty Four Media, the holding company for Quattro Media Advertising LLP, TFF-Central Asia LLP and Ex-TV Media Central Asia LLP, will be integrated into Dentsu Aegis Network. Terms were not disclosed.

Sweden-based Sinch, a provider of a communications platform, has raised $12 million in funding led by Index Ventures and Balderton Capital. With the new capital, the company intends on hiring additional U.S. and business development team members.

YouEarnedIt, an employee-to-employee recognition software and engagement software platform, has raised $1.5 million in funding led by WPP and Capital Factory. The company intends on using the new capital for additional product development and service expansion.

SynapSense Corporation, a provider of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions for businesses to optimize their data centers, was acquired by Panduit, a developer of physical infrastructure management solutions. Prior to the acquisition, the company had raised $43.4 million in funding over six rounds. Terms were not disclosed.

Aicent, which provides mobile data network services and solutions for wireless/mobile operators and enterprise customers, was acquired for $290 million by Syniverse Technologies, a provider of mobile communications solutions.

LearnSprout, an online platform for data and application management for educational institutions, has raised $4.2 million in Series A funding led by Formation 8, Samsung Ventures, and individual investors. The company plans on using the new money to add more features to its platform and polish its user experience.

Cloud app monitoring and analytics provider Netskope, has raised $35 million in Series C funding led by Accel Partners, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and The Social+Capital Partnership.  The company, which has raised $56.4 million in funding to date, will use the new capital to accelerate research and development, sales, and support and marketing efforts.

France-based online collaborative presentation tools provider Bunkr, has raised $1.4 million in seed funding from Idinvest Partners. The company intends on using the new capital for product development and international growth.

Canada-based Verafin, a leading provider of compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection software, has raised $60 million in funding led by Spectrum Equity, with RBC Capital Markets serving as a placement agent. The company has raised approximately $65.5 million in funding to date.

Cymetrix, which provides healthcare organizations and hospital-affiliated physician practices with comprehensive revenue cycle management solutions and consulting services, was acquired by global expert services company Navigant (NYSE:NCI), from Riordan, Lewis & Haden. The deal is valued at upwards of $100 million, including $75 million in cash at closing and $25 million in possible earn-outs.

Human resources software service provider PeopleDoc, has raised $17.5 million in Series B funding led by Accel Partners, with participation from Alven Capital and Kernel Investments. The company plans on using the new capital to grow in the U.S. and European market.

BetterCloud, a provider of enterprise cloud management and security software for Google App, has raised $8.6 million in Series C funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners, Greycroft Partners, TriBeCa Venture Partners, Bear Creek Capital, Hallet Capital, and BLH Venture Partners. The company previously raised nearly $14 million in funding over two rounds.

Cloud-delivered security platform OpenDNS, has raised $35 million in funding led by Greylock Partners, Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Glynn Capital, Cisco, Evolution Capital, Lumia Capital, Mohr Davidow Ventures, and Northgate Capital.  The company has now raised $42 million in funding to date.

Data security provider XA Secure, was acquired by HortonWorks, a provider of open-source software used for managing massive amounts of data. The acquisition will enable HortonWorks to offer security across all Hadoop workloads. Terms were not disclosed.

Pantheon Systems, which offers a service for building and running enterprise grade Websites, has raised $21.5 million in Series B funding led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from OpenView Partners, Foundry Group, and First Round Capital. The company, which has now raised $28.8 million in funding to date, plans on using the new capital for product development and international expansion.

Center Partners, a provider of contact center and Web self-service solutions, was acquired by business process outsourcing and call center services provider Qualfon, from The Kantar Group. Terms were not disclosed.

Notivus Multi-Family, a risk mitigation and compliance service platform, was acquired by RealPage (Nasdaq:RP), which offers property management software solutions. Notivus will extend the company’s Compliance Depot solution. Terms were not disclosed.

UK-based Satago, an online platform that automates credit control, has raised $1 million in its second round of funding led by AngelList. The company plans on using the new money to further develop its online platform.

IT services and consulting company Enkitec, which provides access management and application integration, was acquired by Accenture (NYSE:CAN), a company offering management consulting, technology, and business process outsourcing (BPO) services. Terms were not disclosed.

JustFab, a fashion eCommerce subscription company, is in talks to raise between $50 million and $100 million in Series D funding. The company raised $40 million last September from Shining Capital Management (Hong Kong), Matrix Partners, Rho Ventures, Technology Crossover Ventures, and Intelligent Beauty. One month earlier it acquired ShoeDazzle.
