Software developer for smartphones Peak Positioning Technologies (TSXV:PKK), has acquired all assets of Quickable.com, which operates an online destination and mobile classified advertising applications, for $2.5 million.

Nettica, which provides domain registration and management, as well as hosted email services for Web customers, was acquired by Dyn, which also provides domain name services for businesses. Terms were not disclosed.

CircleUp Network, which provides a crowdfunding platform for startups to seek capital and take a percentage once the round has closed, has raised $14 million in Series B funding led by Canaan Partners, Google Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Maveron, and Rose Park Advisors. The startup plans on using the new capital to build new tools and services that will help investors and entrepreneurs.  The new round brings the company’s total funding to $23 million.

Workpays, which provides an online retail group for purchasing service, was acquired by online credit holding company Global Analytics Holdings. Terms were not disclosed.

South Korea-based online game developing company CJ Games, has sold a 28 percent stake to China-based Tencent (HK:700), for $500 million.

LiveSafe, which develops mobile software to provide users with information about crime, has raised $6.5 million in Series A funding led by IAC (Nasdaq:IACI) , with participation from individual investors. The company previously received an undisclosed amount of funding from CIT GAP Funds.

Ebuzzing, the video advertising solution, has merged with Teads, a video ad management supply side platform, with the aim to go public on the NASDAQ in 2015. The combined companies will be rebranded as “Ebuzzing and Teads” group, creating a global leader in video advertising. Terms were not disclosed.

Destination marketing solutions provider Simpleview, which offers a CRM and content management systems platform, forecasting, and reporting tools, has acquired Software Management (SMI), which provides CRM tools for destination marketing organizations. With the acquisition, Simpleview strengthens its suite of CRM, CMS, mobile, and eMarketing products. Terms were not disclosed.

TinderBox, which provides cloud-based software to manage business proposals and marketing communications, has raised $3 million in Series C funding led by Allos Ventures, with participation from Hyde Park Venture Partners. The company previously raised $1.3 million in Series B funding last year.  The new capital will be used to scale the company’s business including business development, and sales and marketing support.

Local Market Launch, which offers a suite of tools and services that help companies manage the online presence of local stores, has raised $1 million in new capital led by Rincon Venture Partners, with participation from individual investors. The company has raised $3.5 million in funding to date.

Big data startup Indix, which offers a platform that enables brands and merchants to explore, analyze, and visualize product relate information in real-time, has raised $8.5 million in Series A funding led by Avalon Ventures and Nexus Venture Partners. The latest round of funding brings the company’s total funding raised to $14.5 million to date. With the funding, Indix will launch a set of “product aware” applications.

Austria-based PC Systeme, which provides telematics and mobility solutions for organizations in Europe, was acquired by TouchStar Group, which offers logistics and mobility software solutions. TouchStar will integrate the PC Systeme cloud-based telematics and mobility services into its on-premise logistics and enterprise mobility solutions, creating a range of integrated solutions from GPS fleet tracking to comprehensive enterprise mobility and automated accounting solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Circle Internet Financial, which provides digital currency products, has raised $17 million in Series B funding led by Oak Investment Partners, with participation from Pantera Capital, Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, and individual investors. The company has raised a total of $26 million to date. With the new funding the company will offer a new consumer product “Circle”.

FlexMinder, which provides Web-based software that automates reimbursements for health-care flexible spending accounts, has raised $1.2 million in Series A funding led by Alliance of Angels, Founder’s Co-Op, and WRF Capital. The new capital raised will be used to support new contract that the company has recently signed, and brings the company’s total funding to $2.7 million.

TouchBistro, which provides mobile point-of-sale (POS) solutions for the food and drink industry, has an additional $1.5 million in seed funding led by Walden Venture Capital and Kensigton Capital Partners. The company will use the new funds to establish a local presence in key markets and expand its customer base in the next 12 months, as well as invest in new technology and talent acquisition.

China-based Freightos, which provides an online freight network that allows freight carriers and vendors to communicate and upload complex contracts and freight quotes, has raised $4.6 million in Series B funding led by Aleph and ICV.

Fieldglass, which provides solutions for finding and managing human capital, was acquired by SAP (NYSE:SAP) from Madison Dearborn Partners. Terms were not disclosed.

security software

Norway-based Conax, which provides content protection solutions for digital TV services, was acquired by The Kudelski Group (SWX:KUD), from Telenor Broadcasting Holding. The deal is reportedly valued at around $250 million.

Security software company Network Technology Solutions, which provides perimeter security, Web content security, Email security, and remote access, was acquired by information technology infrastructure services company Capita IT Services.

Norway-based MindIT Solutions, which provides e-learning solutions to large and medium-sized businesses and organizations, was acquired by Seagull, which offers training and assessment tools for compliance. Terms were not disclosed.

Assay Depot, which operates a Web-based network of research exchanges for the life sciences market, has raised $3 million in Series B funding led by Bootstrap Venture Fund.  The new capital raised will be used to continue growth of Assay Depot’s platform, and brings the company’s total funding to a total of $6.5 million.
