LIN Media (NYSE:LIN), which operates local television stations that act as affiliates to big broadcast networks, was reportedly acquired for $1.6 billion by Media General (NYSE:MEG), a digital media company and operator of broadcast television stations. The combined company will own 74 stations in 46 markets and reach 26.5 million households, which puts them right behind Sinclair Broadcast Group in terms of number of stations operated.

Recipe search website Gojee, was acquired by XO Group (NYSE:XOXO), which provides multiplatform media services to the wedding, newlywed, and pregnancy markets. Gojee had raised $4 million from Kapor Capital and InterWest Partners, and had explored sales with companies such as Yahoo.

Office-use analytics software solutions company Rifiniti, has raised $1.9 million in Series A funding from Nauta Capital, Hub Angels, and undisclosed angel investors, which brings the company’s total amount raised to more than $2 million. The newly raised funds will be used to further develop its software.

Decision-making technology and tools startup YouNoodle, has raised $1.1 million in funding led by VegasTechFund and Universum Group, with participation form Amicus Group. The funding will be used for international expansion.

2ergo, which provides mobile technology that delivers coupons and vouchers, was acquired for $7.4 million by Eagle Eye Solutions, which offers transactional solutions to multi-channel retailers for promotional marketing and vouchering.

Accells Technologies, which provides mobile authentication solutions, was acquired by Ping Identity, which operates an identity and access management platform. The acquisition allows Ping Identity to quickly incorporate a secure mobile authentication solution into its identity and access management platform. Terms were not disclosed.

Crowdtap, which provides a service that allows marketers to collaborate and mobilize targeted crowds of consumers, has raised $5 million in Series B funding from Foundry Group, Tribeca Venture Partners, Alta Communications, and Mustang Group. The company has raised $15 million in funding to date.

Mobile workforce solutions provider Gigwalk, has raised $10 million in Series B funding led by Nokia Growth Partners, with participation from Randstand Holding, August Capital, Harrison Metal, and SoftTech Venture Capital. The company has raised $17.7 million in funding to date.

collaboration software

Upverter, which provides a design and collaboration platform for electronic projects, has raised $2.3 million in seed funding led by Version One Ventures, with participation from Golden Venture Partners. The new capital raised will be used to develop and market the company’s platform.

financial software

Swanson Services Corporation, which provides banking software for correctional facilities, was acquired by Trinity Services Group. The acquisition will enable Trinity Services Group to expand its secure commissary operations into new markets and clients. Terms were not disclosed.

Information & Business Services

The Warranty Group, which provides warranty programs and related services, was acquired by TPG Capital from Onex Corp. for $1.5 billion. Onex had purchased The Warranty Group from insurance broker Aon back in 2006 for $710 million.
