Twice, which operates an online second hand clothing website, has raised $18.5 million in funding led by Andreesen Horowitz, with participation from IA Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Lerer Ventures, and WTI. The round brings Twice’s total investments to over $23 million. The company differentiates itself from its closest competitor Threadflip with its focus on a concierge-style marketplace.


Indiescapes, a Singapore-based company providing online tour booking and hosting services in Southeast Asia, was acquired by BeMyGuest, an online booking site that aggregates locally hosted activities in Asia. Terms were not disclosed.


Zuke’s, a marketer of premium dog and cat treats, was acquired by Nestle Purina PetCare Company, the pet care division of Switzerland-based Nestlé from private equity firm Encore Consumer Capital. Terms were not disclosed.

Mobile content/apps

Cobook, a Latvia-based developer of a contact management application, was acquired by FullContact, a company providing solutions that automatically update personal contact information. FullContact’s Address Book is a Web-based product, while Cobook develops applications for Apple’s OS X and iOS platforms. By acquiring and integrating Cobook, FullContact will be able to expand onto mobile devices, Macs, and PCs. Terms were not disclosed.

Mindie, a France-based mobile application that allows users to record and share videos with music tracks, has raised $1.2 million in funding led by SV Angels, Lower Case Ventures, Dave Morin & Slow Ventures, Betaworks, along with individual and angel investors.

Supernova (fka Viddy), which provides a mobile application that enables users to capture, create, and share mobile videos, was acquired by Fullscreen, which operates as a digital media company that builds next-generation channels and networks on the YouTube platform. The acquisition will allow Fullscreen to expand their services on the mobile platform. Terms were not disclosed.

Customer conversation platform Evocalize (fka DishOpinion), which provides technology to leverage customer information, has raised $3 million in Series A funding led by Madrona Venture Group. The company uses the conversations tracked to provide insights into customer preferences to enable real-time business monitoring and management.


PeriscopeIQ, a company providing customer and employee engagement solutions, has sold an equity stake to private equity firm Rezon8. The capital will be used for sales expansion efforts and strategic acquisitions. Terms were not disclosed.

Marketing automation software maker SalesFusion, has raised $8.3 million in Series B funding led by Noro-Moseley Partners and BLH Venture Partners. The investment brings the company’s total funding to a total of $10 million.

WP Engine, which provides an enterprise-level hosting service for blog users, has raised $15 million in funding led by North Bridge Growth Equity. The capital raised will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and invest in product innovation across its platform. The investment brings the company’s total funding to $18.2 million.

Outcast Media, a company that operates as a digital television network in the fuel space, was acquired by Gilbarco, a provider of retail automation and management solutions. Outcast offers retailers installation, maintenance, and field service support. The acquisition will allow for Gilbarco to reach and engage consumers in convenience stores. Terms were not disclosed.

Online payment platform WePay, has raised $15 million in Series C funding led by Continental Investors, with participation from WIN Investment Network, Highland Capital Partners, August Capital, and Ignition Partners. The capital raised brings the company’s funding to a total of $35 million. The company will use the new funds for product development and international expansion.

IT-Lifeline, a provider of comprehensive disaster recovery and compliance testing solutions for the financial services industry, was acquired by Rentsys Recovery Services, which also provides disaster recovery solutions. The acquisition will expand Rentsys product offerings. Terms were not disclosed.

Applied Discovery, a provider of electronic discovery services to law firms, corporations, and government agencies, was acquired by DTI, a provider of outsourced e-discovery services. Terms were not disclosed.

security software

Impermium, a provider of a risk-evaluation platform that identifies fraudulent registrations, compromised logins, and risky transactions, was acquired by Google (Nasdaq:GOOG). The acquisition will enable Google to improve their monitoring efforts. Terms were not disclosed.

CCBR-Synarc and BioClinica, have agreed to merge into a single provider of specialized outsourced clinical services. No financial terms were disclosed. CCBR-Synarc is a portfolio company of Water Street Healthcare Partners, while BioClinica is backed by JLL Partners and Ampersand Capital Partners. All three firms will have ownership positions in the combined company.


Teespring, a startup providing outsource production and distribution for custom apparel, has raised $20 million in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. The company has raised $21.9 million in funding to date.

DataRisk, an operator of a risk management consulting firm, was acquired by RSC Insurance Brokerage (dba Risk Strategies), a provider of insurance brokerage and risk management solutions to middle market and upper middle market clients. Terms were not disclosed.

NewSide, a UK-based provider of IT consulting and systems integration services for businesses in the financial sector, was acquired by France-based Talan Group, which also provides similar services to the telecom, energy, and transportation service sectors. Terms were not disclosed.
