ClassicCar.com, a company that operates an online classifieds website, community forum, and events directory for the automotive industry, was acquired by Collector Car Network (dba ClassicCars.com), an online marketplace, reference site, and community for classic automobiles. The acquisition is part of Collector Car Network’s growth strategy to expand its customer base and content offerings. Terms were not disclosed.

Online travel agency Bookit.com, providing online booking services to travelers, received $10 million in funding led by Monroe Capital. The funding will be used for growth and expansion of the services offered.

Social commerce network Ador (fka Lockerz), was acquired by China-based eCommerce company LightinTheBox (NYSE:LITB). In Novemeber, Ador disclosed in a regulatory filing it had raised $9 million of a possible $25 million round. Ador’s investors have included DAG Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Liberty Media, and Live Nation Entertainment. Terms were not disclosed.

Exec, a developer of a Web and mobile application to help people book home cleaning services, was acquired by Handybook, a provider of a similar service to book handymen. Terms were not disclosed.

First Opinion, a provider of a mobile application that allows users to text-message a doctor and pays doctors to message the user back, has raised $1.2 million in funding led by 500 Startups, Felicis Ventures, Greylock Partners, and angel investors. First Opinion customers pay $9 per month for the service.

Wash.io, a mobile application and service provider that allows users to schedule a dirty laundry pick-up, track their orders, pay and have their clothing delivered back the same day, has raised $2.3 million in funding led by Pejman Mar Ventures, Sherpa Ventures, and individual investors.

JustBook, a Germany-based provider of mobile hotel booking solutions for business travel, was acquired by Secret Escapes, a UK-based luxury travel flash sale site. The acquisition will allow Secret Escapes to get into the mobile space and expand into the German market. Terms were not disclosed.

SiteMinder, an Australia-based company operating an online hotel distribution and connectivity platform, has raised $30 million in funding led by Technology Crossover Ventures. The company intends to use the funding to expand in the American, European, and Asian markets and develop new products.

Contently, an operator of a marketplace where writers can connect with companies engaged in “content marketing” online, has raised $9 million in Series B funding led by Sigma Prime and Sigma West, with participation from Lightbank, Contour Ventures, and individual investors. The capital raised will be used to add new capabilities to its existing site.

MyEdu, a provider of a Web application that helps students create an academic roadmap tailored to their academic and career goals, was acquired by BlackBoard, a company offering learning management systems for educational organizations. The acquisition will strengthen Blackboard’s tools for “improving student outcomes”. Terms were not disclosed.

The News Funnel, which operates a free, Web-based news aggregator for real estate professionals, has raised $2 million in Series A funding led by SL Investment Partners, The Hampshire Companies, and individual investors. The investment brings the company’s total funding to $4 million. The content on the company’s site sources industry-specific news from trade publications and major media sources.

NextBit, a mobile platform development company, has raised $18 million in Series A funding led by Google Ventures and Accel Partners.

Venga, a provider of a mobile business intelligence and CRM platform for restaurants, has raised $1 million in Series A funding led by Militello Capital. The company’s technology enables restaurants to track and analyze their customer’s purchases, habits, and preferences.

DeskWolf, a Denmark-based developer of social media marketing solutions that allows businesses to create social campaigns, communicate with their social audience, and measure social media performance, has raised $2 million in funding led by SEED Capital. The company will use the capital for product development and international expansion.

iRadio Trademark, a provider of an online radio service and a domain name registration service for .fm domains, was acquired by Music of Your Life (OTCQB:MYLI), an operator of a syndicated radio network that delivers music to AM/FM and HD radio stations.  Terms were not disclosed.

EquityMetrix, a provider of big data solutions to land data management issues in the oil and gas industry,  has raised $5 million in funding led by Peterson Partners. The investment will be used to accelerate the development of new services.

FarmLogs, which makes an agricultural application that helps farmers manage their land to increase yield, recieved $4 million in Series A funding led by Drive Capital, with participation from Huron River Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and Hyde Park Angels. Farmlogs’ services offer forecasting and measuring profits, track expenses, and manage risk. The investment will be used to expand the company’s team and to build out their product roadmap.

Clearsky Technologies, a provider of hosted mobile data solutions and content for wireless operators, has raised $12 million in funding led by Highland Partners and General Catalyst.

Impendium Systems, a UK-based firm that deploys cloud-based software solutions to help customers achieve regulatory compliance, was acquired by Deutsche Boerse, which provides Web-based stock exchange trading data and news to traders and finance businesses.  Terms were not disclosed.

Eyefreight, a Netherlands-based provider of a Web-based transportation management system technology, has raised $11.8 million in Series B funding led by De Hige Dennen Capital and Global Cleantech Capital. The new capital will be used to expand operations in North America and enhance the company’s Software-as-a-Service product.

AmkaiSolutions, develops information management solutions for outpatient surgery providers, was acquired by Surgical Information Systems, a provider of surgery and anesthesia information systems for surgical suites and hospitals. The acquisition will enable AmkaiSolutions to further their product and client support. Terms were not disclosed.

CloudUp Networks, a platform that provides organizations with security solutions to protect their cloud bound data, was acquired by cloud information security company CipherCloud. The acquisition by CipherCloud complements the company’s solutions in delivering a platform to protect sensitive data in the cloud. Terms were not disclosed.

Confer Technologies, which provides a security network that helps companies secure servers, laptops, and mobile devices from cyberattacks, has raised $8 million in Series A funding from Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners. The company plans to use the investment for further product development and for sales and marketing.

Gemini Systems, a technology consulting company that specializes in delivering information technology solutions, was acquired by IT and business solutions provider Essextec. The addition of Gemini Systems’ US operations will expand the suite of solutions and services to include comprehensive big data analytics, mobile, and social business solutions, as well as Gemini Systems’ software development and IT automation capabilities. Terms were not disclosed.

Stockell Consulting, a company providing middle market IT staffing, and Aurora Systems Group, are merging their operations. The combination creates an IT staffing firm blends the staff and resources of each company.
