UK-based online marketplace for independent shops StreetHub, has raised $1.2 million in seed funding led by Index Ventures and Octopus Investments, with participation from Playfair Capital and Avonmore Developments. The company plans to use the investment to hire and expand the network of shops.
Community-generated Q&A search engine Answers Corporation, has raised $300 million in funding led by Summit Partners and TA Associates. The company now operates as a cloud-based platform that sells its Q&A service to other sites.

ForeSee Results, a company that provides customer experience analytics, was acquired by Answers Corporation, a provider of cloud-based solutions to enhance customer acquisition and customer engagement for a reported $200 million. The acquisition will enhance Answers’ customer experience analytics technology.
6th Street, a provider of eCommerce solutions to the retail industry, has raised $1 million in debt funding led by private investors.
Knewton, a learning platform that customizes standardized educational content, has raised $51 million in funding led by Atomico, with participation from Accel Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, First Round Capital, and FirstMarket Capital. The funding is the largest investment that the company has received, and brings its total funding to $54 million.
Hightower, a provider of a mobile technology platform that allows landlords and their leasing brokers to track and collaborate on deals in real-time, has raised $2.1 million in funding co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Thrive Capital, with participation from RRE Ventures and Red Swan Ventures.

GoPago, a provider of commerce solutions to merchants and mobile payment platforms for consumers, was sold from Amazon (NasdaqGS:AMZN) to DoubleBeam, a provider of white-labeled mobile payments technology solutions designed to easily integrate into any existing mobile application or digital wallet. Terms were not disclosed.
Zimperium, an Israel-based company offering mobile cybersecurity solutions, has raised $8 million in funding led by Sierra Ventures. The company’s solutions serve the telecommunication, government, and enterprise markets.

Palmer Hargreaves, a full-service integrated marketing communications agency, has raised $6 million in funding led by BGF.
Three television stations KTVK-TV, KASW-TV, and KMOV-TV, were acquired by media and marketing company Meredith Corp (NYSE:MDP) from Gannett Co. (NYSE:GCI) for $408 Million. The acquisition will allow Meredith to expand its broadcast revenue.

Compudata, a Switzerland-based provider of business-to-business supply chain integration and e-invoicing solutions, was acquired for $17.9 million by Descartes Systems Group (TSX:DSG), which provides a SaaS that offers features for scheduling, warehouse optimization, logistics, and messaging.
Upturn Solutions¸ a company providing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) designed for distribution, manufacturing and warehouse environments, was acquired by Dematic, a supplier of systems for the factory, warehouse, and distribution centers. Terms were not disclosed.
CollaboRate, a company that provides Web-based mobile enabled software as a service solution used for the hiring process, was acquired by HireVue, a company that offers an on-demand digital interviewing platform. Terms were not disclosed.
