Shake, a legal startup that offers a mobile software enabling consumers to create basic legal agreements in simple language, has raised $3 million in funding led by SoftBank Capital, with participation from RRE Ventures, BoxGroup, Eniac Ventures, Mesa+, and WGI Group. The investment will be used to hire additional team members, launch Web and mobile versions of the application.

Apartment List, an apartment matching engine that takes user’s preferences, questions, and social network to find an apartment, has raised $15 million in funding led by Matrix Partners. With this investment the company will be building out its product, engineering, and sales teams. The platform offers 3D floor plans and high resolution photos of apartments.

Collective IP, which provides a search engine and a marketplace for licensing intellectual property for technologies from universities, companies, and research institutes, has raised $2.5 million in funding led by High Country Venture. The investment will be used to build Collect IP’s technology platform.

Clypd, a provider of an interactive television and video ad exchange, has raised $7.2 million in funding led by Atlas Venture. The company’s technology enables agencies, publishers, and advertising networks to provide contextually relevant advertisements on interactive televisions.

Veenome, a startup that analyzes video content to improve ad targeting, analytics, and SEO, has raised $1 million in funding led by India Venture Partners, WildScreen.tv, and Dingman Center Angels.

Commerceserver.net, a company offering enterprise eCommerce solutions, was acquired by Sitecore, a Web content management and portal software provider. The acquisition will provide an integrated enterprise eCommerce solution into SiteCore’s platform, providing an end-to-end solution for its customers.  Terms were not disclosed.

Plasenta Conversation Agency, a Turkey-based social media agency, was acquired by marketing communications company Young & Rubicam. Plasenta Conversation Agency specializes in social media monitoring and management and digital media projects for Turkish and international markets.

Legacy Locker, a service that allows users to pass along digital assets to designated individuals after the user has passed away, was acquired by PasswordBox, a Canada-based company that provides digital password management solutions. The acquisition will allow for PasswordBox to integrate Legacy Locker’s digital management solutions to strengthen their placement on the market. Terms were not disclosed.

LifeCake, a UK-based photo-sharing storage solutions aimed at families, has raised $1.1 million in funding led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Techtopia. The investment will allow LifeCake to improve their ranking engine.

FinanceIt Canada, a Canada-based provider of point-of-sale financing tools to merchants, has raised $13 million in funding led by TTV Capital, Inter-Atlantic Group, and Second City. The investment brings the company’s funding to a total of $21.4 million.

Spreedly, a company offering multiple payment gateways overtime for commerce and subscription customers, has raised $5.4 million in funding led by private investors.

Actual Experience, a UK-based provider of application performance management solutions, has raised $6 million in funding led by private equity firm IP Group (LSE:IPO).  The investment will be used for Actual Experience’s continued expansion.

Apprenda, which offers an application development and management platform as service, has raised $16 million in funding led by Safeguard Scientifics, with participation from Ignition Partners, and New Enterprise Associates.

Pentana, a UK-based company that develops governance, risk, and compliance software, was acquired by Ideagen (AIM:IDEA), a UK-based developer and supplier of compliance based enterprise information management software.

On Center Sotware, a provider of construction automation software, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Accel-KKR. The company’s software manages various phases of a construction job, from the initial bid stage to completion.

CapLinked, which operates a cloud platform for complex business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, has raised $1 million in funding led by Subtraction Capital, FF Angel, and 500 Startups. The company’s investments come to a total of $5.4 million in funding to date.

Catalyze.io, a provider of cloud solutions for application developers in the healthcare industry, has raised an undisclosed amount in funding led by Baird Capital, Arthur Ventures, and Chicago Ventures. The company’s solutions enable data integration, and industry-standard security.

P&I Personal & Informatik (XTRA:PUI), a Germany-based provider of integrated software solutions for HR management, was acquired by UK-based investment firm HgCapital from The Carlyle Group. P&I Personal & Informatik at an enterprise value $459.9 million, or 3.9X Revenue and 10.9X EBITDA. Terms were not disclosed.

AIRCOM, a UK-based provider of network planning management and optimization tools to the mobile telecommunications market, was acquired by assurance and analytics solutions provider TEOCO. The acquisition will allow TEOCO to sell, deliver, and support customers on a global scale. Terms were not disclosed

Quarri Technologies, a provider of on demand Web information security solutions for consumers, has raised $2.3 million in funding led by Wild Basin Investments. Their products give enterprises the ability to extend security controls temporarily to web browsers accessing their web applications, providing information protection and data leakage prevention wherever users are.

software development tools

Umeng, a China-Based developer of analytic tools for mobile developers, was acquired by China-based eCommerce conglomerate Alibaba Group Holding for $80 million.
