CurrencyFair, an Ireland-based company that operates a peer-to-peer currency exchange marketplace, has raised $2.5 million in funding led by Frontline Ventures, with participation from angel investors. CurrencyFair has raised $4.8 million in funding to date.
Pool Supply World, an internet retailers of swimming pool supplies, was acquired by Leslie’s Poolmart, one of the largest retailer of swimming pool supplies and related products globally. Terms were not disclosed.
Velti (NasdaqGS:VELT), a provider of mobile marketing and advertising technologies, has agreed to sell its U.S., UK, and India-based mobile marketing businesses and certain assets of its U.S.-based advertising businesses to GSO Capital Partners, the credit division of Blackstone (NYSE:BX). Terms were not disclosed. GSO Capital Partners has also committed to provide up to $25 million in debtor-in-possession financing, including a $10 million cash investment to support the operations included in the proposed sale.

Adchemy, a company that develops digital marketing solutions, has sold its customer acquisition division, Actions, to direct response marketing company XL Marketing. Adchemy’s remaining solutions enable marketers to standardize, automate, and scale their search engine marketing campaigns and processes. The deal is is expected to bring XL Marketing’s total revenue to more than $150 million next year. Terms were not disclosed.

Rapidminer is designed to help customers discover trends, correlations, and opportunities from their data.
Slingshot, which offers solutions to create a “one click” shopping platform, was acquired by retail technology firm Symphony EYC. Terms were not disclosed. UK-based Slingshot allows customers to add items to their online retailer shopping baskets from anywhere in one click. The acquisition facilitates Symphony EYC’s ability to offer fast moving consumer goods brands and retailers a more engaged digital experience with their customers.
Xtify, a provider of cloud-based mobile messaging tools that help organizations improve mobile sales, drive in-store traffic, and engage customers with personalized offers, has been acquired by IBM (NasdaqGS:IBM). Xitfy’s solutions enable digital marketers to create content-rich in-app mobile messaging and push notifications to encourage mobile application usage.
6 WunderKinder, a Germany-based company that designs and develops a cloud-based cross platform productivity application, has raised $30 million in funding led by EarlyBirdCapital, Atomico, and Sequoia Capital. The company’s app enables users to complete a variety of tasks, from planning a trip to sharing a shopping list.
PicCollage, a mobile application that allows users to combine images, text, and freeform collages to share on various social media platforms, has raised $2.3 million in funding led by 500 Startups, Floodgate Fund, Freestyle Capital, Quest Venture Partners, Sand Hill Angels, and XG Venture.
Loop, a company providing mobile commerce software solutions, has raised $10 million in funding led by private investors. Loop’s platform provides mobile POS and checkout solutions integrated with its mobile wallet and promotions system.

Germany-based Virtual Shape Research, a developer of class-A surface modeling and conceptual design software for the automotive industry, was acquired by Autodesk (NasdaqGS:ADSK). As part of the deal, 10 VSR employees will join Autodesk. Terms were not disclosed.
