Madefire, a motion books website featuring comics that have been enhanced with animation, music, and sound effects, has raised $5.2 million in Series A funding led by True Ventures, with participation from Anthem Venture Partners, Crosslink Ventures, Correlation Ventures, and various angels.

Quri, which provides a retail intelligence analytics application that helps businesses monitor the way their products and promotions are being executed in various retail environments, has raised $10 million in Series B funding led by Matrix Partners, with participation from Catamount Ventures and Simon Equity Partners.

Traxo, a personal travel and rewards organizer, has raised $4.2 million in Series A funding from Advantage Capital Partners, Silver Creek Ventures, and Thayer Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to invest in product development, business-to-business capabilities, and overseas expansion.

Russia-based RocketBank, a mobile banking technology company, has raised $2 million in seed funding from Runa Capital. Its iOS app includes the ability to pay a person without their bank details.

CardFlight, a company that helps developers to integrate in-person card payments into their own app, has raised $1.6 million in seed funding led by ff Venture Capital, with participation from Great Oaks Venture Capital, Payment Ventures, Apostolos Apostolakis, Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, and Plug & Play Ventures.

Sendmail, which provides appliance-based products, applications, and services that allow enterprises and government agencies to architect and deploy secure mail and message infrastructures, was acquired for $23 million by security-as-a-service company Proofpoint (Nasdaq: PFPT). For the full year of 2014, the company currently expects Sendmail to contribute approximately $5 million in revenue.

UK-based Sefaira, a provider of software for energy-efficient building design, has raised $7.2 million in funding from existing investors Braemar Energy Ventures, Chrysalix SET, and Hermes GPE. The company also secured a $2 million venture debt facility from Silicon Valley Bank. The company, founded in 2009, previously raised a $10.8 million Series A round in the first half of 2012.

Telogis, which provides a SaaS location intelligence platform that allows companies to manage their workforce, has raised $93 million from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The company’s platform was designed for companies that require dynamic routing, real-time work order management, navigation, telematics, and mobile integration services for their mobile workforces. The company expects $85 million in revenues this year and more than $100 million next year.hr software

HireVue, which provides a Web interviewing platform, has raised $25 million in Series D funding from Sequoia Capital at a $150 million valuation. The company’s platform also allows employers to source potential job candidates via social media and, by integrating with Taleo and other existing recruiting platforms, screen candidates with on-demand interviews that allow hiring managers to rate and share their favorites. This round brings the company’s total investments to $47 million.

The Climate Corporation (fka WeatherBill), a company offering a technology platform that enables the real-time pricing and purchasing of customizable weather insurance, has been acquired for $930 million by biotechnology company Monsanto. Terms also include an additional $170 million to be paid out over time as an employee retention plan, bringing the total purchase price to $1.1 billion. The Climate Corporation is backed by Founders Fund, Khosla, Google Ventures, NEA, Index Ventures, and Atomico.

France-based Angolia, a provider of a SaaS search API for developers, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding from Index Ventures, Point Nine Capital, and Alven Capital.

France-based Equinox Consulting, a financial services consulting firm, has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by Cognizant (NasdaqGS:CTSH), an IT consulting and business process outsourcing services provider. Equinox Consulting provides business consulting services across investment banking, asset management, retail banking, insurance, and specialized financial services. Under the terms of the agreement, about 160 consulting professionals will join Cognizant.

Bermuda-based Prime Management, a fund administrator and service provider to investment structures, sponsors, and managers in the insurance linked securities market, has been acquired by SS&C Technologies (NasdaqGS:SSNC), a global provider of financial services software and software-enabled services. This acquisition furthers SS&C’s ability to administer insurance linked securities and the funds which invest in them. Prime currently services 25 managers with $6 billion in assets under administration from its Bermuda and Canadian offices.

Canada-based mobile strategy and product development firm Xtreme Labs, has been acquired by EMC (NYSE: EMC) spinout Pivotal. AllThingsD reports the purchase price at $65 million. In April, EMC bundled many of its cloud computing and big-data businesses and spun them out as a new company, Pivotal. The company includes a number of VMware employees and also rolls up EMC (NYSE: EMC) businesses including Greenplum, Cloud Foundry, Pivotal Labs, and Gemfire.

Apptitude, a mobile application development firm, has sold a 80 percent equity stake to Jamaica-based holding company Keystone Augusta. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
