Fashion eCommerce subscription company JustFab has raised $40 million in Series C funding led by Hong Kong-based Shining Capital Management, with participation from return backers Matrix Partners, Rho Ventures, Technology Crossover Ventures, and Intelligent Beauty. Last month, JustFab acquired ShoeDazzle, and its total investments have reached $149 million.

Shopular, a mobile deal-finding application, has raised $6.4 million in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital. The startup had previously raised a seed round from Y Combinator and other angel investors. The company uses its proprietary technology to source deals, which it then combines into a deals database.

Burner, an app that lets users create and manage multiple phone numbers for their voice and text communications, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Founder Collective and Venrock.

Health advice portal VitaPortal, which raised a $2 million Series A last October from Prostor Capital and Esther Dyson, has merged with ZdorovieOnline.ru, a smaller medical platform and electronic medical records portal, backed by Runa Capital. Terms were not disclosed.

LeadPages, a provider of landing page and other website-focused customer lead generation and conversion solutions, has raised $5 million in funding led by Foundry Group, with participation from Arthur Ventures. The funding will help the company expand its service that provides customers with landing page templates powered by a data analytics engine.

DoubleDutch, a mobile events application platform for the enterprise, has raised $10 million in Series C funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from return backers Floodgate Fund and Bullpen Capital.

iPowow!, a real-time, interactive platform accessed via the Internet and on mobile devices enabling broadcasters, TV producers, and advertisers to engage their viewers, consumers, and target audience, has raised $3 million in funding from Difference Capital Financial (TSXV:DCF).

Swiftype, which develops search software for the next generation of Websites and applications, has raised $8.7 million in funding, according to a regulatory filing. Seed backers had included New Enterprise Associates, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, and Ignition Partners.

Unsilo, a semantic search startup founded by early Siri employee Mads Rydahl, has raised $1 million in funding from Oei and Scale Capital.

Revenew, a channel marketing platform that leverages an integrated mix of digital, social, and direct marketing tools to generate sales and brand momentum, has raised $4.5 million in funding, according to a regulatory filing. Backers include Allos Ventures and TGap Ventures.

BetterCloud, a provider of enterprise cloud management and security software for Google Apps, has raised $6 million in Series B funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners, with participation from return backers Greycroft Partners, TriBeCa Venture Partners, Bear Creek Capital, Hallett Capital, and BLH Venture Partner.

Braintree Payment Solutions, which provides credit card payment processing solutions for businesses in the United States and internationally, is being acquired for $800 million by online payment services provider Paypal. Braintree will continue to operate as a separate service within PayPal. Analysts estimate Braintree’s revenue to be around $100 million to $150 million a year.

SaaSID, which provides organizations with a single point of control over employees’ access to cloud services and applications, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive data, has been acquired by Intermedia, a cloud IT services and business applications provider. Terms were not disclosed.


Academia.edu, a platform for academics to share research papers, has raised $11.1 million in funding led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from Spark Capital and True Ventures.

OnTrack Diabetes, an application to help diabetics manage their diabetes, was acquired by Medivo, a healthcare technology company engaged in bringing personalized medicine into practice in the areas of preventive and therapeutic care. The acquired app helps physicians coordinate patient care and can be recommended to monitor key clinical changes between office visits.


Predilytics, a predictive analytics company that analyzes health data and provides data-as-a-service for healthcare companies, has raised $4.5 million in funding led by Foundation Medical Partners. A year ago, the company reported raising $6 million in a Series A round led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Highland Capital Partners, with participation from Google Ventures and several angel investors.


Aventura HQ, a provider of awareness computing solutions for hospitals, has raised $4.3 million in funding from return backers that included Clarion Direct Investment, Excel Venture Management, HLM Venture Partners, and MemorialCare Innovation Fund.

U.S. Teks, a managed information technology services partner, was acquired for an undisclosed amount by NetGain Technologies, a provider of technical solutions and IT managed services to banking, manufacturing, healthcare, small-medium business, non-profit, and professional services markets. U.S. Teks’ services include data protection, managed services, hardware as a service, hosting services, vendor management, Voice-over-Internet-Protocol, and Business IT Support.
