Audio Network’s founders and management team will maintain more than 80 percent of their original holdings post the completion of the transaction.

YouBeauty, a Website focused on health and wellbeing, has raised $8.6 million in Series A funding led by existing investor Contour Venture Partners, with participation from new investor MainLine Investment Partners. The company provides users with scientifically-proven quizzes and tools that measure and enhance everything affecting their beauty ranging from skin and hair to stress, sleep, and self-esteem.

An online marketplace that connects pet owners with qualified sitters nearby, A Place for Rover (dba Rover.com), raised $3.5 million in a new round of funding led by Petco Animal Supplies. Previously, Rover.com raised $10.4 million in two separate rounds of venture funding.

Zvents, a StubHub subsidiary that produces and operates entertainment guides online, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Nokia Growth Partners.

Fusion Tree and BrandFish, two customized online marketing services companies offering search engine marketing, search engine optimization, comparison shopping, social media, display retargeting, and customer retention strategies, have been acquired by SellPoint, a provider of online video product tours and brand stores for manufacturing companies. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Italy-based Simple Agency, a digital marketing company utilizing a multichannel management model based on display, automated buying, video advertising, performance media, search, mobile, and social, has sold a majority stake to Aegis Media. Simply Agency will be combined with iProspect, Aegis’ global digital performance agency.

Qwilt, the company behind a line of video infrastructure tools that helps service providers like cable networks handle the growing demand for Internet video, has raised $16 million in Series C funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from previous investors Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Marker LLC. The new round brings Qwilt’s total capital raised to $40 million.

Olapic, a company developing “visual commerce” tools, has closed a $5 million Series A round led by Fung Capital USA and Longworth Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Great Oaks Venture Capital and Scout Ventures. Olapic’s software as a service enables businesses to include consumer-generated images and video on their eCommerce sites.

Bottlenose, a Web platform to organize social media streams, has raised $3.6 million in Series A funding in a round led by ff Venture Capital, with participation from Lerer Ventures, Transmedia, Advancit, Stage One Capital, Social Starts, The Social Internet Fund, and several angel investors. Including a seed round in 2012, this brings Bottlenose’s total investments to $4.6 million.

Social Tables, a company offering software that enables event coordinators to create 2D and 3D diagrams and models of layouts or seating arrangements, has raised $1.6 million in funding from existing investors 500 Startups, Fortify Ventures, and various angel investors. The company’s software is used to personalize the sale of event space rentals with custom layouts that fit clients’ needs.

Tech 7 Systems, which provides enterprise software solutions to the travel industry that allow companies to track, sell, and manage travel inventory, has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by Interactive Leisure Systems (OTCPK:IALS), a company also focused on enterprise software platforms for the travel industry. Tech 7 Systems reported revenues of $0.7 million for 2012.

Visual-search technology company Superfish, which offers monetization tools that generate revenue from affiliate networks when consumers purchase items displayed in image-based search results, has raised $10 million in a Series D round of funding at a valuation of $80 million. Vintage Investment Partners led the round with participation from existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Tamir Fishman. This brings the company’s total outside funding to $20 million, and will be used to develop new applications for the image identification and matching algorithm technology in the areas of mobile and social.

Dynamic Promotional Marketing Specialists, a distributor of promotional products, has been acquired by fellow distributor Triton Sales & Marketing. Terms were not disclosed. Dynamic Promotional Marketing Specialists sources and distributes a variety of promotional products, including premiums, advertising specialties, meeting accessories, trade show items, conference and exhibition giveaways, imprinted apparel, business gifts, employee give-aways, recognition/reward programs, and direct mail premiums.

Greenspring Media Group, the print media publishing arm of American Public Media Group, has been sold to Hour Media, a full-service publishing company focused on city magazines and online content. Terms were not disclosed.

LocaModa, a place-based social media company for social interactions to turn digital place-based media communications into interactive dialogues, has been acquired by Monster Media, an interactive technology company and designer of digital out-of-home advertising solutions. The LocaModa platform selectively filters social media from sources such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and embeds it into multi-channel campaigns to create more engaging and measurable interactions between brands, venues, and audiences. Terms were not disclosed.

TIML Radio, which owns and operates a radio station in the UK under the name Absolute Radio, has been acquired for £22 million ($33.76 million) by Bauer Consumer Media, a media company engaged in the consumer and specialist magazines, radio, television, online, and digital businesses. The company was sold by TIML Golden Square. TIML Radio offers competitions, music, community, and football programs and has a strategic partnership with LG Electronics.

France-based cloud computing solutions provider Boost, was acquired for an undisclosed amount by NERIM, a broadband service provider offering DSL services. Boost generated revenues of €2 million ($2.6 million) in 2012.

Backblaze, an online backup services company whose backup application automatically finds photos, music, documents, and other irreplaceable files on the hard drive, and compresses and securely encrypts them, has sold an additional 8.2 percent equity stake for $2.5 million to TMT Investments (AIM:TMT). Following the investment TMT Investment will hold an 18 percent stake in the company.

data storage technology

Switzerland-based Veeam Software, which develops data protection and replication software solutions for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Insight Venture Partners. The company, which has been profitable since 2009, expects annual sales to surpass $250 million this year and doubled its bookings revenue in the most recent quarter from the same period a year ago. It has more than 70,000 customers and is adding about 3,000 each month.

GridGain Systems, which makes in-memory computing technology, has closed a $10 million Series B round led by new investor Almaz Capital, with participation from previous investor RTP Ventures, the U.S. arm of Russian investor ru-Net Holdings. GridGain’s business software integrates in-memory data and compute-grid technologies. It can be used to scale up from one server to thousands of machines to handle terabytes of data in real time. In late 2011 GridGain had received $2.5 million in Series A funding led by RTP Ventures at a valuation near $10 million.

Software

collaboration, communications application

PlayerLync, which offers playbook distribution management and collaboration platform for coaches and athletes, raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding led by Anschutz Investment. PlayerLync’s tools include automatic content synchronization as well as annotation via screen recording, voice, and text.

healthcare, big data technology

Bina Technologies, which developer of an analytics platform to help scientists analyze genetic information, has added another $1.7 million to its Series B funding, bringing the round to $8 million in total. The add-on was provided by AME Cloud Ventures and Columbus Nova Technology Partners. The company’s Genomic Analysis Platform is known for analyzing an entire human genome in a matter of hours for a variety of specific disciplines.

healthcare

eHealth Solutions (dba SigmaCare), which develops and markets clinical solutions for long-term and post-acute care facilities that lower risk, reduce re-hospitalizations, decrease costs, and increase reimbursement, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Marlin Equity Partners.

financial consulting

RevMAP, a healthcare revenue cycle consulting firm, focuses on patient access, health information management, case management, patient financial services, charge description master optimization and compliance, as well as strategic planning and product line profitability, has been acquired by consumer interaction services provider Radius Global Solutions. Upon completing of the acquisition, Radius Global Solutions has launched its healthcare revenue cycle management offering Radius Healthcare Solutions. Terms were not disclosed.
